Protest movement "yellow vests" announced a protest march in Amsterdam on Saturday. Protesters will gather at the Stopera at 11:30 a.m. and then march along the Amstel and around the city hall. The protest was reported to the municipality, a spokesperson for Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema said to Het Parool.

A 24-year-old Moroccan man was arrested in the south of France on suspicion of stabbing a 44-year-old man to death on C.J.K. van Aaltstraat in Amsterdam in September. The man will be extradited to the Netherlands this week, Het Parool reports.

Minister Wopke Hoekstra of Finance canceled his planned visit to an investor conference in Saudi Arabia next week, following the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi after he visited the Saudi consulate in Turkey. The consultancy firm that organized Hoekstra trip confirmed that the Minister is no longer going, ANP reports.

Surveillance camera footage show Khashoggi entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 3rd. There is no footage of him leaving again and he hasn't been seen since. There is still much confusion about what happened to him.

A man from Belgium was checked in the Vosges mountains in France on Thursday after Dutch police officers mistook him for Jos B., the man suspected of murdering 11-year-old  in 1998, the Limburg police confirmed to NU.nl.

The Belgian man was not arrested as some media sources reported, only checked to confirm his identity, the Limburg police said.

Twenty years after the murder of 11-year-old in Brunssummerheide, the Dutch authorities managed to identify a suspect. The suspect is 55-year-old Jos B. from Simpelveld. The police do not know where he is at this time, and placed him on the national wanted list on Wednesday.

The Netherlands had the sixth highest hourly wage in the European Union's business sector with an average of 38.80 euros last year. Denmark came in first place with 42,50 euros, according to European stats office Eurostat, ANP reports.

The public- and agricultural sectors are not included in these figures. 

In addition to Denmark, employers in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and France also spent more on their employees' wages than the Netherlands. Bulgaria had the lowest hourly wage at only 4.90 euros gross.

The French and Spanish police arrested a 36-year-old man from Morocco in Paris on Wednesday morning. He is suspected of involvement in a from Amsterdam to Paris in August 2015, ANP reports.

The suspect lives in Spain and was on his way to Belgium, the Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs announced.

The French authorities are implementing stricter measures on drug use in skiing areas, focusing especially on Dutch and Spanish tourists. Most of the narcotics seized on the French ski slopes come from Netherlands and Spain, according to France's customs, NOS reports.

In the ski year 2015-2016, nearly 500 kilograms of weed, cocaine, and ecstasy, among others, were confiscated in the French Alps. Skiing is increasingly becoming a party holiday for many young people, according to the broadcaster. French media already refers to people using cocaine on the slopes as 'snow sniffers'.

A 52-year-old Dutch horse dealer was sentenced to 17 years in prison by the Crown Court in Canterbury for smuggling 50 kilograms of cocaine into Dover in the United Kingdom. He smuggled the drugs to raise money for the career of his daughter, a successful show jumper, the Telegraaf reports.

The British court found Mario van G. guilty of smuggling 50 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of almost 4 million pounds [around 4.5 million euros] into the country at the port of Dover.

Minister Wopke Hoekstra of Finance is looking forward to seeing what his French and German colleagues come up with in regards to cryptocurrency regulations. The French and German Finance Ministers plan to present their proposal at the G20 summit in March, RTL Z reports.

Hoekstra said that "once it is there" he will study the proposed regulations "with attention" and then "see what we will do in the Netherlands", according to the broadcaster.

French baby formula producer Lactalis is recalling over 12 million packages of its baby formula from stores in a total of 83 countries, including the Netherlands, due to concerns that the products may be contaminated with salmonella. "This is a preventative recall, worldwide and also from the Netherlands", a spokesperson for Lactalis said to AD.

An older couple was arrested in Gennep, Limburg in an Dutch-led international investigation into fraud and money laundering, the Public Prosecutor announced. The 81-year-old man and 61-year-old woman are accused of tax fraud, money laundering, forgery and illegal banking. According to the Prosecutor, the amount involved in the couple's crimes is estimated at over 41 million euros.

A 22-year-old au pair from Loenen aan de Vecht has been missing for almost a month. Anjelie Basco left the Utrecht town on September 9th to meet someone she met on Tinder and never returned, AD reports.

On Saturday, September 9th, the young woman took public transit towards Amsterdam. According to the police, she had her cellphone and passport with her. At 10:10 a.m. she checked out at Amsterdam Central Station with her public transit card. Later on Saturday she sent messages to friends on WhatsApp. On Sunday the 10th, she opened her WhatsApp a few times, but sent no messages.
