Over 500 thousand Dutch households are dealing with serious financial troubles, according to Nibud. And while the number of people facing financial troubles is not decreasing, fewer and fewer people are asking for help. This is because the topic is still too "taboo", Nibud believes, RTL NIeuws reports.

Jet Airways is canceling more flights to and from Amsterdam. All flights between Schiphol and India scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are canceled, the financially troubled Indian airline confirmed to NL Times in a statement. 

Jet Airways flies between Amsterdam and Bengaluru (commonly known as "Bangalore"), Delhi, and Mumbai in India, and also Toronto, Canada. The airline suspended the route between Amsterdam and Toronto on April 11th "until further notice", a Jet Airways spokesperson said to NL Times by email.

A tenth of Dutch children are dissatisfied with their own lives and give their lives a failing score of 3.8, according to a study by Children's Ombudsman Margrite Kalverboer. The difference between happy children and unhappy children in the Netherlands is also growing, she said on Tuesday - the International Day for the Rights of the Child, NU.nl reports.

Kalverboer analyzed nearly a thousand questionnaires filled out by children and spoke to a number of children in various living situations, from top young athletes to kids living on the street.

Just over half of Dutch entrepreneurs have experienced a period in which they faced financial- and personal problems, according to a survey by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. About a tenth of entrepreneurs are currently facing these problems. The survey was conducted among 1,200 mainly smaller business owners, NU.nl reports.

Dutch food and consumer product safety authority NVWA denies that it first learned that eggs were maybe contaminated by toxic fipronil in November last year. The authority did receive a report about fipronil in that month, but that report only stated that it had been used to clean stables - there was no reason to believe that it could end up in eggs and pose a potential health risk, inspector general Rob van Lint said on Wednesday, RTL Nieuws reports.

The interviews will concern the possible impact financial problems are having on safety at the reactor, Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen wrote to parliament.

Volkskrant.nl reports that the number of primary- and secondary schools under financial supervision has increased from 12 in September 2012 to 26 this month. The inspection on education, Onderwijsinspectie, had to publish these numbers according to the Dutch law on publicity of governance, Wet openbaarheid van bestuur (Wob).
