Firefighters took photos of the resuscitation of former footballer Kelvin Maynard after he was shot in Amsterdam Zuidoost in September, Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus said in a letter to parliament.

It is "obviously very serious," a Amsterdam-Amstelland fire department spokesperson told newspaper AD. To date, no fire fighters are known to have been disciplined over the incident.

A group of 20 civil society organizations, led by anti-discrimination action group Controle Alt Delete, filed an official complaint against the police unit Den Haag. According to the organizations, the police in The Hague have been ignoring signals and reports of discrimination within the police for years and that must change. The complaint was filed with National Police chief Erik Akerboom, and a copy was sent to Minister Ferdinand Grappenhaus of Justice and security.

In the near future, violence against a police officer or other first responders will always be punished with a prison sentence. Currently only perpetrators of serious violence and sex crimes are always punished with prison, and never with community service.

Violating traffic laws and rules will be more expensive next year - almost all traffic- and speeding fines are increasing. The government is implementing an "inflation correction" increase of 2.7 percent, AutoRAI.nl reports based on the government document Measures for Traffic Safety.

The 2.7 percent increase is based on the change in the consumer price index between June 1st last year and June 1st this year, Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security said in the document.

A majority in the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, on Tuesday approved a legislative amendment by Justice Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus to this effect, NOS reports.
