Three leading members of motorcycle gang Satudarah were convicted in a big drug case on Monday. Their sentences were much lower than the Public Prosecutor demanded, however. According to the court in Breda, there is no evidence that the suspects formed a criminal organization, ANP reports.

Stinky white smoke curling from a chimney led to the discovery of an ecstasy lab in Eindhoven on Sunday.
Passersby noticed the smoke on Rapenlandstraat and called the police around 10:00 a.m. Officers and firefighters agreed that the smelly smoke was suspicious and decided to search the building. Inside they found a large ecstasy lab in "full operation", according to the police. No one was in the building while it was searched.
An Eindhoven bus driver who had a corrosive liquid thrown in his face while on duty late in January, is doing well and is back at work, his employer said to Omroep Brabant. "He was home for a while, but is back at work now. He sustained no permanent injury", the employer said to the broadcaster.
A bus driver in Eindhoven was attacked by three men on Friday, January 27th, the police said on Wednesday. The perpetrators threw a corrosive liquid in the bus driver's face, injuring his eyes. It is unclear whether he will recover fully, Omroep Brabant reports.
The men threw the liquid in the bus driver's face immediately after boarding the bus at the Nicolaistraat bus stop and then fled on foot. They are still at large.
The perpetrators are all men between the ages of 20 and 25 years old with tanned skin.
An argument between a group of young people in Eindhoven got out of hand on Thursday night and ended with a 19-year-old being run over with a car. The young man got stuck between a car and a tree and sustained severe injuries, a bystander said to Omroep Brabant.
The victim was rushed to the hospital. He sustained a broken pelvis and tailbone and his leg broke in three places, his brother said to the broadcaster. "He is also complaining of pain in the abdomen. He is currently being examined in surgery", the brother said on Friday morning.
Jamal Williams from Vught ended up in hospital in critical condition after he stood up for a woman in an Eindhoven nightclub on Saturday night. The 24-year-old man confronted a group of men for harassing a woman and was beaten up for his efforts.
The assault happened around 2:00 a.. on Sunday on Stratumseind. Jamal's mother says that he was beaten to the ground while standing in line at the club. He sustained a brain injury, but is now in stable condition, the mother said according to Brabants Dagblad.
Suspected jihadist Lieke S. from Eindhoven was extradited from Bulgaria to the Netherlands. The Koninklijke Marechaussee took her into custody at Schiphol airport on Friday morning, AD reports.
The 33-year-old woman was arrested in Bulgaria on December 23rd, at the request of the Dutch Public Prosecutor. The prosecutor in Den Bosch suspects her of trying to join terrorist organization ISIS in order to take part in the violent struggle in Syria.
On Tuesday the police arrested two brothers in Eindhoven on suspicion of involvement in a brutal robbery and rape in a chalet in Schaijk in 2009. New information led investigators to the suspects, the police said in a statement on Wednesday. The suspects, age 26 and 28 years, are in custody for further investigation.
A doctor in Geertruidenberg, Eindhoven had his GP's license suspended for six months after he had sex with a female patient. The suspension was imposed on him by the Regional Disciplinary Board in Eindhoven. The doctor's practice will be closed until July 3rd of this year, Omroep Brabant reports.

A 9-year-old child threatened store personnel in Eindhoven with a knife after he was caught shoplifting. The store employees stopped the boy before he could leave the Action store and tried to take him to the office. He pulled a knife and started waving it about, ANP reports.
The employees managed to take the knife from the boy. The 9-year-old grabbed a pen and again tried to stab the employees. When the employees took the pen from him, he started screaming.
A home on Honthorststraat in Eindhoven was severely damaged by an explosion around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. The police closed down the street in the Burghplan neighborhood for investigation, the police said on Twitter.
According to newspaper AD, the resident was home when the explosion happened, but managed to escape unharmed.
The home's windows were broken and several cars in the area were damaged. The home's facade also sustained damage.
A motorcycle police officer accused of of knocking over a scooter rider, seriously injuring him, was acquitted of attempted manslaughter. The Eindhoven cop was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm and sentenced to 100 hours of community service, Omroep Brabant reports.
The Public Prosecutor demanded 120 hours of community service, one day in prison and a 29 day suspended prison sentence. According to the Public Prosecutor, the 43-year-old cop took a massive risk when he pushed the suspect over while the scooter was in motion.
During Christmas and New Year's insurance companies in the Netherlands receive on average double the number of claims as on ordinary days, according to figures from the Dutch Association of Insurers. However, for the third year in a row there was a decrease in the number of burglary claims last year, AD reports.
Last year there wre some 38 thousand burglaries across the country, compared to 45 thousand in 2014. That is a decrease of about 18 percent. Compared to 2013, the number of burglary claims submitted per day halved from 250 to 125.
In the third quarter of this year, Schiphol and Eindhoven airport both accommodated a record number of passengers, according to figures Statistics Netherlands released. Cocaine use in the cities of Utrecht and Eindhoven increased significantly over the past year, according to the European agency for drugs and drug addiction EMCDDA based on a study on drugs in the sewage of cities, ANP reports.
In Utrecht the amount of cocaine residue found in the sewage was twice as high as last year. According to the researchers' calculations, about half a kilo of cocaine is used in the city each day. In Eindhoven that number is slightly higher.

The Regional Disciplinary Tribunal in Eindhoven suspended a doctor in Brabant for six months for a sexual relationship he had with a patient, Omroep Brabant reports.
After two appointments with the doctor, the female patient asked the doctor if he was single. They chatted online and had sex in her home. The woman found out that the doctor was already in a relationship and refused to make an end to it. So she decided to file a complaint with the disciplinary committee.
Several hundred passengers were evacuated from Eindhoven Airport on Tuesday morning after the discovery of an unattended bag. Dogs trained to sniff out explosives were deployed. The bag contained nothing suspicious and the airport was opened again, AD reports.

A police officer in Eindhoven is being prosecuted for hitting a pedestrian with his car, causing serious injury, in August. The Rijksrecherche, the department that handles internal police investigations, looked into the incident and based on that investigation the Public Prosecutor decided to prosecute, NOS reports.
