Protest group Kick Out Zwarte Piet is plainning at least three more protests against blackface Zwarte Piet in the coming weeks, the organization announced on Thursday, ANP reports.

The group will hold "peaceful protests" at Sinterklaas' arrival in Leiden on November 19th, in Utrecht on November 26th and Rotterdam on November 207th.

Elderly care organization Amsta is opening a special home for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elderly people in the Dr Sarphati house in Amsterdam. "Here you do not have to explain how you lived your life", the organization said to Het Parool. The home opens on Wednesday and will initially have room for 8 LGBT elders.

If you want to apply for a job at the municipality of The Hague, your name, birthplace and homeland will be blacked out on your CV and introduction letter. That means that the Selection Committee can judge whether or not you're suitable for the job based on your qualifications alone. Soon age will also be removed to prevent discrimination against older people.

Anti-blackface group Kick Out Zwarte Piet (KOZP) plans to protest in Maassluis during Sinterklaas' national arrival on November 12th. "For us 2016 will be the last year that December has an aftertaste of colonialism, slavery and opression", the group said according to RTL Nieuws.

According to the KOZP, Zwarte Piet in his current form is a racist figure.

The PvdA is focusing on fighting discrimination in its campaign for next year's elections. The party wants a harsher approach by considering racism a hate crime with higher penalties and dedicating specialized police officers to address the problem, AD reports.

The party wants to use "naming and shaming" against employers who discriminate against their employees or prospective employees. The party also feels that the police and Public Prosecutor should put more effort into catching and prosecuting racists.

Broadcaster RTL will not be using blacface makeup on Zwarte Piet this year. The media company decided to from now on only use Pieten with soot marks on their face, RTL said in a statement. 

"For one part the image of Zwarte Piet is discriminatory, while others find that Zwarte Piet is an integral part of the tradition", the broadcaster said in a statemetn. "RTL understands both points of view, but also believes that this discussion should not be about what's right, but understanding for each other."

The Discrimination Hotline for the Amsterdam region is calling on people to report cases of discrimination, harassment and racism during the Sinterklaas season, NOS reports.

According to the Hotline, the “controversial figure of Zwarte Piet”, annually causes situations to get out of hand at school, work and other public places. The Hotline is consciously choosing to actively participate in the debate on what Zwarte Piet should look like.

A police officer in Emmen caused quite a commotion on social media with a tweet about "Moroccan chancers" who tried to catch a train after missing a bus. The Emmen police reprimanded the neighborhood officer and instructed him to take the tweet down.

The officer wrote on Twitter: "Last train in Emmen with some Moroccan chancers who wanted to go to Ter Apel, but missed the bus. Fine walk then!"
