A man stabbed his wife to death in a home on Marco Polostraat in Den Bosch on Thursday afternoon. He was arrested at around 2:00 p.m., when he went to a police station to turn himself in, AD reports.

When the police went to investigate, they had to break one of the home's windows to get in. Inside they found the woman's body. No one else was in the home.

Local residents told AD that a Moroccan family, with two sons in their 20s and a teenage daughter, live in the home. "Unreal", one neighbor said to the newspaper. "They were all very quiet and sweet people."

Decorated soldier Marko Kroon will be prosecuted for assaulting a cop in Den Bosch during Carnival early in March. He will be prosecuted for "breach of honor, insult and simple assault", the Public Prosecutor said in a statement on Friday. The Ministry of Defense announced that Kroon is suspended in anticipation of his trial.

A power outage halted train traffic between Eindhoven and Boxtel for hours on Sunday afternoon. This caused chaotic situations at the train stations in Den Bosch and Eindhoven, with travelers complaining on social media about being stranded. Some travelers were stuck at the stations for over three hours, NU.nl reports.

A fugitive convict who the police placed on the national wanted list last week, is seemingly taunting the police with pictures and videos of himself enjoying his freedom on holiday. The man, 35-year-old Shahin Gheiybe, posted a video on Instagram in which he says he is enjoying the nice weather. The police showed the video on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.

"You must not believe everything that is said about me in the media. The truth is very different", Gheiybe said on the video. The police believe the video was shot in Iran.

Three skeletons were found during archeological excavations in Den Bosch. The skeletons are believed to be soldiers who died during the siege of the city in the Eighty Years' War in the 17th century. Two skeletons were excavated during the past few days. The third skeleton is in the process of being excavated on Thursday, NOS reports.

The court of appeal in Den Bosch sentenced John F. to 12 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend Linda van der Giesen. In 2015 F. shot and killed Van der Giesen in the parking lot of a hospital in Waalwijk, where she worked as a nurse. He also threatened and stalked her for some time before her murder.

Multiple shots were fired at a home on Johan van de Veldestraat in Den Bosch during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Multiple residents were home at the time, but no one was injured, the Oost-Brabant police said on Twitter.

The shooting happened at around 1:00 a.m. The residents called the police. At least four bullet holes can be seen in one of the house's windows, according to Omroep Brabant.

According to Brabants Dagblad, a family with several teenagers lives in the home. Local residents told the newspaper that the shooter fled on a scooter or in a car.

A 17-year-old girl from Rosmalen died in hospital on Monday after being critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in Den Bosch early on Sunday morning. A 37-year-old man from Den Bosch was arrested, the police said in a statement.

The girl was cycling across De Harendonkweg at around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday when she was hit by a dark colored Volkswagen Golf. While witnesses tried to help the girl and called emergency services, the driver of the Golf sped away towards Sint Teunislaan. One of the Volkswagen's mirrors was left behind at the scene.

Animal party PvdD will press charges against VVD party leader Klaas Dijkhoff on Tuesday for environmental pollution. Dijkhoff released 500 balloons at a VVD congress in Den Bosch on Saturday, AD reports.

With the release of the balloons, Dijkhoff responded to accusations that he released too many "test balloons" in his political work. He asked the the attendees of the congress to write down political ideas, which were attached to the balloons and released into the air.

Advances in DNA identification techniques led to the identification of a body found in 2001 in Belgium. The body of Corrie van der Valk was buried in Philippeville, Belgium that same year. The 58-year-old woman was struck by a train near Namur, Belgium, and caused extensive damage as to make identification impossible at the time.

The Van der Valk family was notified of the discovery on Thursday. One of her relatives told the AD, "We are sad, but also relieved that there is now clarity after so many years."

31 mayors of larger Dutch cities are calling on the Senate not to remove the appointment of mayors from the Dutch constitution, and to keep the procedure as is. Removing the appointment procedure from the constitution is the first step in enabling an elected mayor. Jos de G. was sentenced on appeal to 12 years in prison for raping and killing 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk in 1995. The court in Den Bosch convicted him of rape and manslaughter on Tuesday. When this case was first tried two years ago, De G. was convicted of only rape and sentenced to 5 years in prison, NU.nl reports.

Shots were fired at a home on Muntelwal in Den Bosch on Thursday evening. No one was injured. The residents were not home at the time of the shooting, according to the police.

Two shots were fired, local residents told Brabants Dagblad. "Then we saw a small, dark car driving away with screeching tires", one resident said. "This is normally a quiet neighborhood", another neighbor, whose been living on this street for 20 years, said to the newspaper. He couldn't say who lives in the targeted home.

A motorist tried to hit a enforcement officer in Den Bosch with his car shortly after he was fined for illegal parking. The municipality's enforcement officer managed to get out of the way in time and was not hurt, ANP reports.

The officer "miraculously" managed to jump out of the way just in time as the car came at him at high speed, the police said.

Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of arson at the Avans University of Applied Sciences' art academy in Den Bosch on Sunday. An 18-year-old boy from Rosmalen turned himself in on Monday, and a 15-year-old boy from Den Bosch was arrested on Wednesday, the police announced on Thursday.

Both suspects were arraigned on Thursday. The 15-year-old was released from custody for the time being, the older suspect will stay in custody for another two weeks.

Two teenage boys from Amsterdam were arrested shortly after a shooting in Eindhoven during the early hours of Monday morning. The shooting happened on Shakespearelaan around 3:00 a.m., Het Parool reports.

Multiple shots were fired at a home on Shakespearelaan. No one was injured, the residents were not home at the time But considerable damage was done to the home's windows and facade, according to the newspaper.

Police union ACP is seriously concerned about the safety of various shooting ranges the police use for training. The union recently learned that a bullet bounced back and hit a police officer's hearing protection at the shooting range in Sevenum, Limburg and problems resulted in the closure of ranges in Den Bosch and Kerkrade, according to the union, RTL Nieuws reports.

According to the union, the police leadership hasn't given a proper explanation about the problems at these shooting ranges.
