Police in Hungary arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with murder of Parsa Maboud. Maboud, better known as “Parsa010” was shot dead in the Ommoord district of Rotterdam while the 21-year-old was barbecuing food and entertaining friends on a lawn.

Maboud was shot once previously, when he was 17, and also served time in prison on a weapons charge.

The court in Amsterdam sentenced four suspects to life in prison in the appeal of the so-called Passage process, which revolves around a number of Amsterdam underworld assassinations. Dino Soerel, Jesse R., Mohammed R. and Siegfried S. will all spend the rest of their lives in prison, the court ruled, NOS reports.

When this case was first tried in 2013, Soerel was sentenced to only six months in prison for money laundering, he was acquitted for his role in the assassinations. The other three already had life sentences hanging over their heads.

The Amsterdam police foiled an assassination plot last week by arresting two suspects in Almere on their way to commit murder, the police said in a statement. The suspects were arrested in a car with stolen registration plates on the Hogering in Almere at around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 1st.

Detectives are looking for at least two offenders in a shooting incident that left one man dead in the Rotterdam neighborhood of Ommoord on Sunday night. The police identified the victim as a 21-year-old man from Zoetermeer. On social media friends and acquaintances identify him by screen name Parsa010, posting photos and and condolence messages.

The Curacao court convicted Burney F. and sentenced him to 25 years in prison for ordering the assassination of politician Helmin Wiels. The court considers it proven that F. gave the gunman the order to kill Wiels, NOS reports. 

F. is currently imprisoned in the Netherlands for drug trafficking and money laundering. He 'attended' his trial on Curacao via a video stream. The court convicted F. based largely on statements by gunman Elvis K., who is currently serving life in prison in the Netherlands for his role in the assassination.

The Amsterdam police need 545 extra police officers in order to effectively deal with the increasingly busy city, assassination investigations and terrorism threats, according to Amsterdam police chief Pieter-Jaap Aabersberg. Mayor Eberhard van der Laan sent a letter in which Aalbersberg details the need of the Dutch capital's police force, to the government in The Hague, Het Parool reports.

The man found dead on Memlincstraat in Eindhoven on Sunday morning was identified as 32-year-old Johan van Boxtel. He had a criminal record and the police that this may have been a gang related shooting. The police are looking for more information about the victim's life and his whereabouts and activities on Saturday and the early hours of Sunday morning.

The police arrested a suspect in the investigation into the murders of a father and son in Zoetermeer on Tuesday. The man was arrested in Rotterdam on Tuesday. He was caught setting fire to an Opel Corsa hijacked shortly after the fatal shooting, a police spokesperson confirmed to ANP after reports in the Telegraaf.

Two men were killed in a shooting in the Zoeterhage industrial complex in Zoetermeer on Tuesday morning. The shooting happened around 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot of a gym located on Edisonstraat, AD reports.

Witnesses told the newspaper that they believe the victims to be father and son, a detail the police had not confirmed after the incident. The victims were found sitting in a black Mercedes parked at the gym. A witness reports a black BMW driving away after shots were heard. The BMW was spotted in the parking lot several times on Tuesday morning, according to the newspaper.

The police recently arrested a man on suspicion of complicity in the murder of Amsterdam career criminal Vincent Jalink in Diemen in May last year. The suspect is 27-year-old Gideon G. from Haarlem, was revealed in the Amsterdam court on Wednesday, NU.nl reports.

G. is currently in court because, according to the Public Prosecutor, he was planning an assassination in Heemskerk in October last year. He was arrested for involvement in Jalink's assassination two weeks ago.

Footage the police released of this first attempted assassination shows a gunman running up to Kok. He tries to shoot the crime writer, but nothing happens and he runs away.

The police are certain that the assassination of 31-year-old Djordy Latumahina in Amsterdam in October was a case of mistaken identity, the police and Public Prosecutor confirmed to Het Parool after reports about it in the Telegraaf. On Tuesday morning the police arrested five people between the ages of 25 and 50 years during raids in Aalsmeer. All five are suspected of involvement in Latumahina's murder.

On Tuesday morning the police arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Hakim Chengachi in Utrecht on January 12th. Chengachi was gunned down in the doorway of his apartment building on Faustdreef in Overvecht.

The suspects, a 30-year-old man from Amsterdam and a 24-year-old man from Zaandam, were arrested in their home towns at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Their homes were searched, the police said in a statement. More arrests may follow.

The police and Public Prosecutor now have access to the contents of 3.6 million messages sent through a network of specially customized BlackBerry smartphones. The authorities believe that these messages were sent by criminals, the Prosecutor announced on Thursday.

In April 2016 the network of Nijmegen business Ennetcom was taken off the air. According to the Public Prosecutor, a criminal investigation into Ennetcom was launched after the technology company surfaced in a number of investigations into assassinations.

The Dutch embassy in Seoul may have been involved in helping bring the family of Kim Jong-nam to safety after he was assassinated, accoding to South Korean news agency Yonhap. Kim Jong-nam was the half brother of North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un.

Cheolima Civil Defense, an organization that helps North Koreans flee when they need to, also thanked Dutch Ambassador Lody Embrechts for his "resolute and strong action" on their website, according to newspaper AD.

A new wave of assassinations seems to have hit the Nethelrands. In less than five weeks, four people were assassinated, two of them in this week, the Telegraaf reports.

Four assassinations in five weeks is a remarkably high number, given the fact that the average in the Netherlands is about eight a year. The high number is on par for the past three years. At least 60 assassinations were committed during this time. That massive increase is even more remarkable when you take into account that the total number of murders in the Netherlands decreased by about 30 percent since 2002.

On Saturday the police arrested two men in Huizen after a long car chase. The suspects had two automatic firearms in the car with them. Sources of newspaper AD claim that they were on their way to assassinate a man, after they shot and killed the wrong man last week.

The suspects were spotted on Faustdreef on Saturday night. The police found them suspicious and decided to pull their car over. Instead of pulling over, the men sped off and the police gave chase. They were eventually arrested in Huizen.

On Monday morning the police arrested several people suspected of involvement in the assassination of 24-year-old criminal Isilnando Kammeron at AMC in Amsterdam on October 10th. All suspects come from Amsterdam, the police announced on Tuesday night.

It is not clear exactly how many suspects were arrested or how they were involved in the crime.

Former criminal and crime writer Martin Kok was buried on Thursday. His funeral began in Volendam and ended in the Vrednhof cemetery in Amsterdam, where he was burried two tombstones removed from his friend and Heineken kidnapper Cor van Hout, AD reports.

Kok's coffin was carried by four young women in skimpy outfits. Champagne was served during the service. Friends and family ended the service with a last toast: "You were a top guy. You were a murder guy." and the lighting of firecrackers. PowNed filmed the funeral and posted it on YouTube on Friday.

A British man arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of crime blogger Martin Kok, was released again on Friday. He was not arraigned, but remains a suspect, the Public Prosecutor announced, according to the Telegraaf. 

The 27-year-old British man was with Kok last week Thursday when he visited sex club Boccaccio in Laren on Thursday. Kok was assassinated when he left the club
