The police arrested a 17-year-old boy suspected of leaving a hand grenade at Amsterdam club In the City almost exactly a year ago. The boy was arrested in the Pijp area in the Dutch capital by a SWAT team around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the police announced on Wednesday.

While investigating a report of a hostage situation at equestrian company Platinum Stable in Riel on Monday night, the police stumbled across a fully equipped cannabis farm further up the street. The hostage report turned out to be a false alarm, but two people were arrested at the cannabis farm, Brabants Dagblad reports.

The police arrested three men from Zaandam around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning after a wild chase that started in Zaandam and ended on the A10 ring road in Amsterdam. They are suspected of various traffic violations, including leaving the scene of an accident after crashing into a police car, the police said in a statement.

A 64-year-old man from Rosmalen was arrested on Tuesday in an investigation into an information leak from the Den Bosch city council's trust committee that handles the appointment of a new mayor, NU.nl reports.

This suspect does not form part of the trust committee, but did have access to information from the committee. How that is possible, is under investigation. He is suspected of leaking confidential information to newspaper Brabants Dagblad.

The man was arrested on Thursday, February 1st, the police said in a statement on Monday.

Toxicological tests will be done on the blood of 39-year-old Paul Selier from The Hague who died after being arrested in Waddinxveen on Friday morning, the Public Prosecutor announced. The Prosecutor wants to determine whether drug- or medicine use can explain the man's "disturbed behavior".

The results of the blood tests will also be taken into account in determining the victim's cause of death.

A 20-year-old Dutch man was found bleeding and seriously injured by a passerby on the street in Kirchberg, Austria during the early hours of Saturday morning. Eight other Dutch were arrested on suspicion of assault.

A spokesperson for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs told NU.nl that eight other Dutch were arrested on suspicion of assault. Seven of them were released from custody after questioning. The eighth was released on Sunday night, the spokesperson said.

The police arrested a 27-year-old man from Schiedam in connection with the death of Jip Jurg from Rotterdam. The 32-year-old man got into a fight during the early hours of Saturday morning and was found dead in his home on Sunday. Autopsy revealed that he died of internal injury, the police said in a statement.

Jip's father called emergency services on Sunday after finding his son unconscious. When first responders arrived at the scene, he was already dead. The police launched an investigation to find out what Jip's last hours looked like.

The police raided a dozen locations in Oost-Brabant, Limburg and Gelderland early on Wednesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the trade of chemicals and narcotics. Five suspects were arrested, the police said in a statement.

The raids started at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Police officers stormed homes and storage units in Geldrop, Helmond, Someren, Venlo, Venray, Nieuw Bergen and Velddriel. The police are still searching through these locations, and expect that this will take up a large part of the day.

The Tax Authority's investigative department FIOD arrested six men on Tuesday in a fraud investigation. The men, aged 20 to 39 years, are suspected of posing as tax employees and scamming millions of euros from Dutch entrepreneurs. The police and FIOD received over 170 reports from victims. In total the criminal gang stole over 2.2 million euros, NU.nl reports.

The police also raided five homes in Arnhem and seized administration, cash, bank cards, a Mercedes and the pin numbers of 'money mules' - people whose bank accounts were abused for criminal purposes.

They are suspected of spreading pornographic material, which can carry a prison sentence of up to a year in the country. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to make contact with the Cambodian authorities to find out what is going on, AD reports.

The police found the body of a man in a home on Kloosterpad in Den Hoorn on Monday evening. Investigators believe he was killed in a crime. Three men were arrested, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police officers responded to the home around 7:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a body. Detectives and a forensic team immediately launched an investigation.

Three men were arrested in the vicinity of the home. The suspects, one aged 37 and two 40-year-olds, are from Delft, Rijswijk and Den Hoorn. They are suspected of involvement in the victim's death.

A Belgian driver crashed into the store of a Texaco gas station on the E40 highway towards Brussels on Monday night. One person was killed and two were seriously injured. According to VRT, all three victims are Dutch.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reports that the three Dutch colleagues were drinking coffee in the shop when the car crashed into them. The Dutch person who was killed was a middle aged man, according to the newspaper. His two colleagues were seriously injured, but are in a stable condition.

On Saturday 16-year-old Nina Nootenboom caught a burglar in her Enschede home and managed to hold him down until the police arrived to arrest him. The police call the girl a hero, but add the caution that it is unwise to confront a burglar yourself.

Nina, her father and her older sister Julia (18) came home on Saturday to find their living room had been ransacked. As they were gone only a short time, Nina quickly realized that the thief could not be far away. "I acted in a reflex", Nina said to newspaper AD.

A 24-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting in the Rotterdam neighborhood of Kralingen on Sunday afternoon. He was rushed to the hospital in "worrying condition", the police said in a statement. Three men were arrested.

The shooting happened at a home on Herman Bavinckstraat just before 4:00 p.m. The suspects were arrested in and around the home. They are three Rotterdam men, aged 45, 26 and 24 years. The police are investigating their role in the shooting.

The Public Prosecutor demanded 200 hours of community service against two men and a woman suspected of attacking a mosque in Dordrecht in 2016. Should they fail to do their community service, they should go to jail for 100 hours, the Prosecutor demanded, RTL Nieuws reports.

A group of 15 people vandalized the mosque on June 23rd, 2016, after a Kursidh family in the Wielwijk neighborhood was threatened. The family hung a Kurdish flag outside their house for a short time after their daughter passed her final exams. They were threatened, and a stone was thrown through their window.
