"The flames came up to 14 meters high out of the van, badly damaging the building. A window in the facade was destroyed by the vehicle, the rest were blown out by the heat of the fire", the police spokesperson said. Firefighters managed to get the fire under control quickly.

Emergency services found a man with multiple stab wounds on a parking lot on Groesbeekdreef in Amsterdam Zuidoost at around 2:45 a.m. on Monday. The man was rushed to hospital after receiving first aid from a trauma doctor, AT5 reports.

An anti-tank weapon was fired at an office building on Teleportboulevard in Amsterdam on Thursday night. A suspect was arrested during the early hours of Friday morning, the police said in a statement.
The incident happened around 11:00 p.m. The building's windows were knocked out. No one was injured. The anti-tank weapon was found in the area and confiscated.
The most well known type of anti-tank weapon is a rocket launcher. Whether that was what was used here is not clear.

The Dutch government decided to make it possible for municipalities to move mopeds off bike paths and onto public roads from July 1st. On Tuesday evening the fire department rescued a 9-year-old boy from the roof of a building on Baron G.A. Tindaplein in Amsterdam. The kid climbed onto the roof "like some kind of Spiderman", but couldn't make his own way down, the Amsterdam Oost Zeeburg police said on Facebook.
According to the police, the boy climbed to the roof using windowsills around 9:00 p.m. Why exactly the young daredevil did so, is not clear.

A 58-year-old man drowned in Amsterdam on Monday after he jumped into a canal while fleeing from shop employees who suspected him of theft, AT5 reports.
During his flight, the man jumped into the water on Kostverlorenstraat. He tried to swim to the other side, but disappeared under water.
Divers from the fire department got the man out of the water and he was resuscitated at the scene for a long time. He was taken to hospital, where he passed away.

A man was found dead in Beatrixpark in Amsterdam on Monday evening. The police are investigating the cause of his death. "We are investigating whether it is a natural death or something else happened. It is too early to say anything about it", a police spokesperson said to Het Parool.
