A 63-year-old train conductor was attacked from behind by a man traveling without a ticket in Breda late in September. The man hit her so hard on the back of the head that she immediately lost consciousness. The police are asking for the public's aid in identifying the suspect.

The conductor checked the man's ticket on the international train from Brussels to Amsterdam on September 28th. She found that he did not have a valid ticket. She took his ticket and told him to buy a new one in Breda. The man behaved aggressively towards the conductor and she left the coupe.

The leader of an Amsterdam mosque believes someone with bad intentions deliberately sliced an audio cable on the building's rooftop to prevent the religious group's first call-to-prayer from being amplified by an outdoor loudspeaker. The Blauw Moskee was set to announce the beginning of a prayer service just before 1 p.m., but visitors and passers-by were met only with the street noise typical of any Amsterdam Nieuw-West neighborhood.

A massive response to an aircraft boarding at Schiphol Airport on Wednesday evening turned out to be a false alarm, according to the airline involved. The crew of an Air Europa flight to Madrid had already boarded 27 passengers when a pilot accidentally pressed the emergency distress button in the cockpit at about 6:45 p.m., the airline said.

A large contingent of authorities and officers were dispatched to the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam on Wednesday night because of an incident on an aircraft. "We are currently investigating a suspicious situation aboard an aircraft at Schiphol," said the Marechaussee, a branch of the Dutch military tasked with protecting airports and borders.

The incident was a false alarm, according to airline Air Europa.

A 34-year-old man had hydrochloric acid poured over him on Johan M. Coenenstraat in Amsterdam on Monday. A 63-year-old man was arrested on aggravated assault. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, the police said in a statement on Tuesday.

The police responded to the scene at around 1:40 p.m. on Monday, after receiving a report of someone being doused with hydrochloric acid. When the responding officers arrived, the 63-year-old man immediately came up to them and told them that he threw hydrochloric acid into the victim's face.

Firefighters took photos of the resuscitation of former footballer Kelvin Maynard after he was shot in Amsterdam Zuidoost in September, Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus said in a letter to parliament.

It is "obviously very serious," a Amsterdam-Amstelland fire department spokesperson told newspaper AD. To date, no fire fighters are known to have been disciplined over the incident.

A motorist was shot at after a road rage incident in Amsterdam during the early hours of Thursday morning. No one was injured in the shooting. The police arrested two suspects.

At around 2:50 a.m. a 28-year-old driver of a blue Volkswagen Golf called the police saying that he was being chased by two men on a scooter. He had a traffic dispute with the scooter riders between Surinameplein and Overtoom. He saw a gun, the motorist said.

While he was on the phone with the police, the men on the scooter shot at the car. This happened on Houtmankade. The motorist was not hit.

A young woman from Amsterdam was contacted by escort agency Pandora in Den Bosch, offering her a job. The agency saw Chantal's Instagram account and thought she'd be perfect for the agency, the Telegraaf reports.

A 29-year-old man was shot on Jacob Krausstraat in Amsterdam early on Sunday morning. He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Multiple media sources identify the victim as Brennan Dalfour, a man with an extensive criminal record who is part of a well known crime family in Amsterdam, according to Het Parool.

The police responded to Jacob Krausstraat at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, after reports of shots fired. They found the critically injured man at the scene. He was resuscitated on the street and rushed to hospital, where he died.

A scooter rider stabbed a 53-year-old father on Dam Square in Amsterdam in front of the victim's wife and young children on Sunday evening, a witness said to the Telegraaf. The stabbing happened at around 6:00 p.m. after the scooter rider got into an argument with several cyclists, the witness said. 

According to the witness, the father was on his own bicycle and the mother was on a cargo bike with their young children. They were waiting at the traffic lights near Dam Square when the scooter rider started shouting at another cyclist.
