On Saturday in Almere, there was an assassination attempt on the man who walked out of a kebab shop in Amstelveen with career criminal Gwenette Martha on May 22nd, after which Martha was executed. 

In the early morning Chadid Y. (26) and a passenger were driving over the Poortdreef when their Volkswagen Golf was hit by another car containing three men, according to witnesses. They shot at Y. Y. was injured and taken to the hospital. The passenger was taken to the police station.

Publication of doctoral research into the effects of so-called "lust pills" on women has been delayed by the Utrecht University after television documentary program ZEMBLA raised concerns about the independence of the committee reviewing the research. Five members of the eight-member team of researchers and evaluators have direct connections to Almere drug company Emotional Brain, the creators of two drugs meant to treat women diagnosed with sexual dysfunctions like lack of arousal. Both drugs were reviewed in the study.

Train stations in The Netherlands will start keeping entry gates closed at busy stations in phases. The first phase will begin in August for Woerden, Rotterdam Alexander, Almere center and Enschede, which are the cities in which the testing for ov-chip cards to replace train tickets has been successful.
