The brutal assassination of two Amsterdam criminals in Staatsliedenbuurt in 2012, was recreated during the early hours of Wednesday morning. The goal of the reconstruction was to find out whether escaped target Benaouf A. could really see and identify the gunmen, as he claims, NU.nl reports.
The reconstruction of a double assassination in Amsterdam scheduled for early Wednesday morning will close the same set of Amsterdam city streets where the terrifying incident took place in 2012. Yousseff Lkhorf, 28, and Said el Yazidi, 21, were killed in the shooting, with bullets sprayed all over the city's Staatsliedenbuurt neighborhood.
Those two murders are said to have started a gang war in Amsterdam still being fought four years later.

Anouar 'Popeye' B. and Adil 'Klinker' A. were sentenced to life imprisonment Friday morning by the court in Amsterdam. The court considered it proven that they are guilty of the double assassination of Youssef Lkhorf and Saïd el Yazidi in the city's Staatsliedenbuurt neighborhood at the end of 2012.
The public prosecutor is calling for sentences equal to life in prison for Adil A. and Anouar B., suspected of murdering friends of a rival gang member, and shooting at their rival as well as two motorcycle police officers with a Kalashnikov rifle. The trail against Adil "Kinker" A. (26) and Anouar "Popeye" B. (34), believed to be two of the shooters in the Staatsliedenbuurt executions, begins today in the Amsterdam court, RTV Noord Holland reports. Another suspect, Hamza B., was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Morocco in December for his role in the executions.
The Moroccan judge yesterday sentenced Hamza B. to 20 years in prison. B. was involved in a double homicide and triple attempted murder in Staatsliedenbuurt in Amsterdam on December 29th, 2012. The prosecutor demanded the death penalty earlier that day, which in practice means life in prison.
