Police stations closed nationwide in contract protest
Police stations across the Netherlands will be closed for two hours on Thursday. This is another protest action organized by police unions against the lack of a favorable collective bargaining agreement.
The stations will be closed in relay. Stations in Noord-Nederland, Oost-Nederland, Midden-Nederland, Oost-Brabant and Limburg will participate in the action between 09:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Stations in Noord-Holland, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Zeeland-West-Brabant will be closed between 13:00 and 15:00. There will be a poster on the door of each participating station explaining the action, the duration and when the station will be open again.
Citizens who want to report a crime or ask a question will have one of three options. They can come back when the action is over, call the general police number on 0900-8844 or, in case of theft or vandalism, report it online.
Emergency services and other form of police work will continue unabated throughout the action.
