The Enschede city council agreed to a support plan for FC Twente to prevent the football club from going bankrupt. The council agreed to write off part of the municipal loan to the club, and to convert another part of the loan into a subordinated loan on which no interest or repayment has to be paid. The condition to this agreement is that FC Twente returns its youth- and women's teams from Hengelo to Enschede as soon as possible, AD reports.

Consumers association Consumentenbond wants the Dutch government to introduce the Nutriscore label on Dutch products. Nutriscore is a color-coded label that shows at a glance how healthy or unhealthy a product is, with ratings from A (healthy) to E (unhealthy).

Train traffic on a number of busy routes in the Randstad is heavily disrupted on Tuesday due to a broken overhead line on the tracks between Weesp and Amsterdam-Zuid. The problems will persist until at least 5:00 p.m., according to NS.

The police are investigating a fire in a hotel on Lage Barakken in Maastricht on Saturday morning. A 51-year-old woman from Brazil died in the fire, the police said in a statement.

The investigation is focused on the cause of the fire. An extensive forensic investigation was done at the scene. The police are also investigating exactly what caused the woman's death.

An autopsy will be done on her body on Tuesday.

A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in a fire in a garage on Sparrenweg in Breda on Monday evening. He succumbed to his injuries during the night, the Breda police said on Twitter on Tuesday morning. The police believe that the fire was a targeted attack against the man, NOS reports.

The fire was reported to emergency services at around 9:30 p.m. The police immediately assumed that arson was involved. What led to this assumption, is not clear.

Four young people were injured in a stabbing incident on Paxlaan in Hoofddorp on Monday afternoon. One suspect was arrested. Another man fled after the stabbing, NU.nl reports.

The stabbing happened at around 4:45 p.m. The police believe it was a fight between two groups of young people that got out of hand. One of them had a knife and started stabbing people around him.

Two trauma helicopters and multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide first aid. A police spokesperson could not tell NU.nl how seriously the victims are injured.

As European elections draw nearer, Dutch MP Monica den Boer wants to see municipalities make a concerted effort to get more Non-Dutch EU Citizens to the polls, a group of about a half-million people that she said "is often forgotten or overshadowed." European citizens who are not Dutch have just one business day left to register if they want to cast a ballot in The Netherlands for the upcoming European Parliament elections.

Two people were rescued in Hilversum after their ultralight plane crashed into a tree on Monday. The plane wedged into the tree about ten meters off the ground, leading to an emergency services response at about 12:50 p.m.

On Monday ProRail halted a controversial awareness campaign, called Victim Fashion - Created By Accident, just four days after launching it. According to the rail manager, the goal of the campaign - making young people aware that they should be careful around the tracks - has been achieved.

The campaign consisted of photos showing the tattered clothing of victims of railway accidents. It received a large deal of criticism, from NS, union FNV, and the relatives of victims, among others, according to NU.nl.

Another child that attends a daycare center in The Hague was diagnosed with measles. That brings the total number of children with measles at the daycare up to four, GGD Haaglanden reported. The health service would not say which daycare center is involved, Omroep West reports.
