The police believe that Hells Angels member Errol Janssen was the man who shot and killed criminal Karel Pronk in Delft last month. The police are looking for him and released his photo to the public on Tuesday to aid in this search.

Police officers are protesting for a better collective bargaining agreement around Amsterdam Central Station on Wednesday morning. Train travelers entering the city center get the warning that they're doing so at their own risk, because fewer police officers are working there this morning. Banners with the same warning are hung along roads toward the city center, the Telegraaf reports.

Thirteen people were arrested during raids against a criminal network around organized cannabis cultivation in the Nieuwstraatkwartier in Almelo on Tuesday. The police also confiscated 13 vehicles and a firearm and broke down three cannabis farms, NU.nl reports.

The police have been investigating subversive activities in the neighborhood for some time. Over the past year 18 cannabis farms were dismantled as part of this investigation.

There is a growing group of young salafists in the Netherlands who politicians can't get a grip on, according to a study by Mohammad Nazar Soroush at Tilburg University, for which he is receiving his doctorate, NOS reports.

Nazar Soroush studied salafist Muslims in the Netherlands for 15 years. He visited 64 religious meetings over the past three years, and listened and watched young salafists at mosques, foundations and leisure activities. Salafists are Muslims who try to live as strictly as possible to the authentic, pure form of Islam.

Employees in healthcare are increasingly resigning to go work elsewhere, either at another healthcare institution or in a different sector entirely. Absenteeism in healthcare is also at the highest point in five years, according to figures by research agency EY, NOS reports.

Staff turnover in healthcare is currently over 13 percent and absenteeism at almost 6 percent. Both turnover and absenteeism are highest in mental health care, youth care and care for the disabled.

The government is structurally allocating an extra 100 million euros for making social rental homes more sustainable. Housing corporations will receive this amount annually starting next year, sources around the cabinet told RTL Nieuws. 

The extra investment will officially be announced on Budget Day, on September 20th, according to the broadcaster. In the coalition agreement the government already promised housing corporations 100 million euros structurally to make their homes more sustainable.

Storms are heading to the southern and central parts of the Netherlands on Tuesday afternoon. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow weather warning.

The warning is in place for Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, Gelderland, Utrecht, Noord-Brabant, and Zeeland from 3:00 p.m. until the evening.

"Chance of thunderstorms with lots of rain in a short time", the KNMI warns. "Traffic and outside activities may be hindered. Avoid open water and open areas, do not shelter under trees. Follow weather reports and warnings."

The Dutch food and consumer product safety authority NVWA admitted liability for an accident in December 2015 in which a 4-year-old boy died. Maurycy Biernacki fell from a play set at indoor playground Happy Days in Grootebroek

The play set did not meet safety requirements. That should have come to light during NVWA inspections, but mistakes were made, a spokesperson said to NOS.

The Public Prosecutor reached a settlement of 775 million euros with ING. The bank allowed customers to abuse their accounts for the laundering of hundreds of millions of euros between 2010 and 2016, NOS reports.

The amount of the settlement consists of a 675 million euros fine and a reimbursement of 100 million euros. According to the Public Prosecutor, ING did not properly fulfill its role as gatekeeper of the financial system and was negligent in preventing money laundering.

Popular snack bar Sinbad on Eerste Oosterparkstraat was targeted in a shooting during the early hours of Monday morning. A cleaner was still in the building when the shooting happened, but no one was injured. Seven shots were fired at the shop, the owner said to AT5.

"We've been a household name in Oost for 15 years. I have no idea where this comes from", the owner said to the Amsterdam broadcaster. He took over the business seven years ago. "The customers wonder about what happened. My family and friends too. But I myself have no idea, other than that seven bullets were fired."
