A rat snake escaped form its cage on Bazuinlaan in Etten-Leur on Thursday night. The police call on residents to keep an eye out for the snake, so it can be returned home.
The snake is not venomous and completely harmless, the police assure local residents. It is about a meter long and has a distinctive orange color.
If you spot the snake, call the police.
A photo of people counting ballots at football club r.k.s.v. EMOS in Enschede while a porno can be seen on a big screen in the clubhouse, caused quite a stir. "The results here are not known yet", Thijs Fiselier tweeted with the photo.
As a joke some footballers switched the big screen from NPO1 to a porn channel and snapped a picture. The photo shows two naked women on the massive television screen, while in the foreground two people are counting ballots, none the wiser.
Enschede man Erik van Bommel can't vote today because his dog Nio tore his voting pass into a thousand pieces last night. He reached out to the municipality, only to be told that no new voting ballots will be issued today. So he's out of luck.
Van Bommel is angry at both his dog and the municipality of Enschede. "He never takes anything off the table. And now this. And I was so eager to vote", he said to Tubantia. "But the municipality said that I should've applied for a new voting pass yesterday before noon. Isn't that weird? Shouldn't it be faster?"
A 46-year-old man woke up wounded on the street in Terneuzen on Tuesday night with no idea what happened to him. The police are looking for witnesses.
The 46-year-old man went for a walk at around 7:30 p.m., something he does on a regular basis. Then he woke up near a pedestrian crossing on Rooseveltlaan with a massive headache and a bleeding injury on his upper body.
He tried to stumble home, but couldn't manage to do so. He therefore knocked on the door of a nearby acquaintance, who called an ambulance. This happened around 8:15 p.m.
A day after the "Kamergotchi" app was launched on television program Zondag met Lubach, over 150 thousand people have downloaded it and are now taking care of their own parliamentarians, AD reports.
The app was launched by Arjen Lubach himself. Its name is a mixture of Kamer - as in lower house of Dutch parliament Tweede Kamer - and the toy Tamagotchi, which was very popular in the 90's. Players start with an egg, which they have to shake open. Then they get a politician - one of 17 party leaders - to care for. The politicians must be fed and give attention.
Two skeletons were found on Steenweg in the Gelderland town of Waardenburg during excavation work for a bicycle path, community officer Jolanda Donkers confirmed to the Gelderlander. Based on other objects found in the ground, archeologists estimate the skeletons to be between 1,000 and 2,000 years old, according to the newspaper.
The skeletons were found on Monday. The archeologists believe that a third skeleton may be buried deeper down, they are doing further investigation on Steenweg.
Fire departments in the provinces of Gelderland, Brabant and Limburg have been receiving reports of a strange stench in the provinces since the early hours of Tuesday morning. The first report came in at the Brabant-Noord fire department around 2:00 a.m., ANP reports.

A bull escaped from a slaughterhouse in Dodewaard on Monday and injured a man during his flight, according to the Gelderlander.
The animal scooped the man up with his head and threw him into the air. The bull luckily had no horns. The victim was taken to a hospital for a checkup.
A gamekeeper shot and killed the escaped bull near Matensestraat. The gamekeeper was called in by the police.
It is unclear how the bull managed to escape.
A 25-year-old man from Tilburg who was arrested on Wednesday after eating a sandwich on a bus, is astounded by the commotion that arose around him and his sandwich, he said on RTL Late Night.
Thirteen police officers responded to a bus driver reporting that he felt unsafe after the young Tilburg man refused to discard his sandwich. A bystander filmed the man's arrest and posted it online.

He fell asleep on the train, woke up when he had to change trains at Amersfoort and forgot his bag full of cash on the train. Fake postal workers using a stolen mail truck are believed to be behind two separate robberies of a second-hand electronics store in Nieuwegein.
The iUsed location was robbed twice in five days. "This is very bizarre", iUsed manager Jip van Asperen said to newspaper AD.
On Friday two people dressed as PostNL workers stole a large order of Apple devices directly from the store. The order, value estimated at around 20 thousand euros, was already packaged and waiting for the postal van to pick it up.

Businessman Dick Peschar, who went missing in Amsterdam on Saturday and suddenly reappeared on Wednesday, claims that he was kidnapped by Albanian criminals. But according to the Telegraaf, he was seen taking his ease at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam earlier this week.
Peschar is involved in a complicated fraud case. He was last seen in a cafe in Amsterdam on Saturday night. His Mercedes was found in a ditch. The police launched a search for him, and found no trace of the businessman, until he reappeared unharmed on Wednesday.
A 69-year-old mother and her 43-year-old daughter were the two people killed along with three of their dogs when a train hit them at a crossing on Sionsweg in Nijmegen on Monday. The victims lived together in a home on Breedweg near Groesbeek, the Gelderlander reports.
