People in the Netherlands can look forward to a very cloudy weekend with some rain leading up to a properly wet Sunday, according to Weeronline. 

Friday will be cloudy, with the south and east of the country getting some light showers in the morning. By Friday afternoon most of the country should be dry, and there is even a chance of the sun breaking through the cloud cover in some places. Maximum temperatures will climb to between 8 and 9 degrees, closer to normal for the time of year than any other day this week.

The police are allowed to force a suspect to unlock their smartphone with a fingerprint scan. This method is not in conflict with the principle that a suspect does not have to cooperate with their own conviction, the Noord-Holland court ruled on Thursday in a case against three men suspected of phishing activities. All three suspects were convicted, NU.nl reports.

Almost a third of Dutch voters want to punish the Rutte III government for its policy during the Provincial States election on March 20th, according to the latest poll by research bureau I&O. A quarter of voters want to support the cabinet with his or her vote. And almost half said that they won't take into account whether or not the government coalition will get a majority in the Senate when they cast their vote, AD reports.

A 48-year-old man from Groningen was arrested in the Overijssel town of De Lutte last week for preparing a terrorist crime, the Public Prosecutor announced on Wednesday. The police launched an investigation into the man after information from intelligence service AIVD that the man adheres to ISIS ideology.

An apartment complex on Galvanistraat in Rotterdam was evacuated on Wednesday evening due to flooding after a fire. A total of 250 people were asked to leave their homes. Two residents were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, NU.nl reports.

The fire was extinguished fairly quickly. It set off the building's sprinkler system, which caused a lot of water damage, local safety office Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond said. A number of electrical installations were affected.

Temperatures in De Bilt climbed to 18.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, breaking the record for the warmest February day ever measured in the Netherlands, according to Weerplaza. The previous record , when a maximum of 18.3 degrees was measured in De Bilt.

A boy was stabbed in the Nelson Mandela park in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Tuesday afternoon. He was rushed to hospital with unknown injuries.

The stabbing happened around 4:00 p.m., according to NOS. The police can not yet say anything about the motive of the stabbing. The extent of the victim's injuries is also unknown.

The police are looking for a man with dark skin who was wearing a black jacket, gray pants and a cap.

A 72-year-old man from Amstelveen was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing children in Nepal, the Public Prosecutor announced after the man's arraignment on Tuesday. He was arrested by the Koninklijke Marechaussee last week, when he arrived at Schiphol returning from Nepal.

A man was injured in a shooting in the Arnhem district of Rijkerswoerd on Monday afternoon. The victim was taken to hospital by helicopter. The police are looking for at least two perpetrators. The incident left local residents shaken, De Gelderland reports.

One person was injured in a shooting on Maasdrielhof in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Monday night. Less than a kilometer away, another person was found dead. The police are investigating whether these two incidents are connected, NH Nieuws reports.

The shooting happened at a home on Maasdrielhof. The police closed down the area for investigation. An area along Huntumdreef, where the body was found, was also closed down for investigation.

The injured person was taken to hospital for treatment.

Dutch customs officers at the port of Rotterdam intercepted a container with 90 thousand bottles of vodka, which were likely intended for North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his army command, newspaper AD reports. The container was found in a ship, hidden under the hull of an aircraft on Friday.

Ten years ago today a Turkish Airlines plane crashed in a swampy meadow on the edge of Zwanenburg, a village between Haarlem and Amsterdam. Nine people were killed - four passengers in business class, two cabin crew members and three pilots. Miraculously, 126 passengers survived, though many of them badly injured, AD reports.

A 63-year-old man was found dead in his apartment on Lisztgaarde in Oss on Saturday evening. He was killed in a crime, the police said in a statement.

Family members visited the man's apartment, where he lived alone, after they were unable to get hold of him. They called the police at around 8:00 p.m. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene, but there was nothing they could do for the man. He was declared dead at the scene. "The discovered situation in the home showed that the man fell victim to a crime", the police said. His exact cause of death is being investigated.

A body was found in the water on Mauritskade in Amsterdam on Friday. The police identified the victim as 23-year-old Jesaja Dollart. The young man from Amsterdam went missing on January 17th, Het Parool reports.

Dollart was last seen alive on Derde Oosterparkstraat in Amsterdam Oost. The police are investigating the cause of his death.

It is not yet clear how Dollart ended up in the water.

The Amsterdam venue booked for an R. Kelly concert in April now says it wants the event scrapped following the musician's arrest in Chicago on Friday. A judge in Cook County, Illinois set Kelly's bond at $1 million the next day after a prosecutor laid out details of 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse against four female victims, three of whom were between 13 and 17 years of age.

The Dutch Public Prosecutor has lists showing that Dutch jihadists received salaries from terrorist organization Islamic State in its possession. These payslips were given to the Dutch authorities by the FBI, newspaper AD reports.

The lists contain the names of all people who worked for ISIS in 2016 and 2017 in Arabic and English. This ranges from fighters to people who did supportive work. The lists include a number of Dutch people, some of whom are currently in custody in the Netherlands, according to the newspaper.

While Friday is starting out gray and foggy, the Netherlands can look forward to a sunny weekend with spring-like temperatures, according to Weeronline. The sun will break through the clouds by Friday afternoon, with maximums climbing to between 10 and 12 degrees.

Over the weekend maximums between 12 and 15 degrees are expected. The first half of week will be even warmer. The sun will work overtime and afternoon temperatures can climb to up to 18 degrees. Late next week will see more clouds and a slightly better chance of rain, according to the weather service.

Rotterdam police chief Frank Paauw will succeed Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg as police chief in Amsterdam. The documents for Paauw's appointment are already at the Ministry of Justice and Security and only the final formalities are required, multiple sources at both the Rotterdam and Amsterdam police and the police's Central Works Council confirmed to Het Parool.

The expectation is that Paauw will start in Amsterdam in April, though that has not yet been confirmed.

The interview started off well enough, but by the end Carlson is completely sick of the Dutch historian.
