A father and his 10-year old daughter died on Sunday after strong winds caused them to become involved in a string of rescue actions at the beach in Katwijk. According to De Telegraaf, the girl jumped into the water to save another child from drowning. When it looked like she may drown as well, her father jumped in after her. Rescue workers had to pull them out of the sea.

A group of air crash investigators and international monitors finally managed to reach the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, according to the mission's official Twitter account. The Dutch and Australian investigators joined the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) for the Ukraine, set up by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
