Witnesses say a gunman dressed as Zwarte Piet opened fire in the Ondiep district of Utrecht and was at-large late Monday afternoon. Police said one person was injured in the shooting on Rietstraat at about 1:10 p.m. on Monday.

A resident on the scene at the time of the shooting told newspaper AD that the suspect jumped out of a white vehicle and shot at the victim's car. The newspaper said a bullet hole was visible in the windshield of a Volkswagen, which was located near an elementary school.

Four men being murdered in a grow shop in Enschede earlier this month may be the result of a conflict over bad cannabis cuttings, sources from the Twente cannabis world told RTV Oost. Three suspects, a 57-year-old father and his two sons aged 30 and 32, bought a batch of cannabis cuttings that turned out to be of poor quality. They went to the grow shop to get their money back and things got out of hand, according to the broadcaster's sources.

NS will pay individual compensation to survivors and relatives of the Holocaust, CEO Roger van Boxtel said to Nieuwsuur. The Dutch rail company earned millions by transporting Jewish people to concentration camp Westerbork during the Second World War.

This puts an end to a battle between NS and Salo Muller, whose parents were transported to Westerbork on an NS train in 1941, when he was five years old. They spent nine weeks in the camp before being transported to Auschwitz, where they died in a gas chamber.

Police Enschede cannabis grow shop murders

Two men from Hengelo were arrested on Monday on suspicion of involvement in the murder of four men in Enschede earlier this month. The two are also suspected of a serious violent crime committed in Hengelo, the police said in a statement.

The incident in Hengelo happened on November 7th. A man was assaulted, threatened with a firearm and shots were fired, the police said. The suspects are 32 and 57 years old. They were arrested in a house in Hengelo and on the A1 near Enter.

A 14-year-old boy's hand got injured when his Zandvoort home was shot at. He was asleep in bed at the time. The police are looking for witnesses, Het Parool reports.

It is not clear whether the boy was hit by a bullet, or hurt by something else like shattering glass.

The shooting happened at a home on Dr. C.A. Gerkestraat at around 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

An accident between a car and a delivery van left one person dead and at least three hurt in Tilburg on Monday morning, according to the police. Emergency services are currently working to free two people who are stuck in the delivery van, ANP reports.

The accident happened at the crossing of Burgemeester Letchertweg and Midden-Brabantweg on Monday morning. The cause of the accident is not yet clear.

The police closed the road for trace evidence investigation.

An explosive was found at a nightclub on Van der Hagenstraat in Zoetermeer on Wednesday evening, the police said on Twitter. Defense's explosive disposal team dismantled it on site.

The police closed down the area around the club at around 9:30 p.m., according to ANP. The Defense team removed the explosive from the site after making sure it would not detonate. 

Where the explosive came from, is not yet clear. The police are investigating.
