Anouk van Luijk has been missing on Cuba for several days. The 19-year-old woman from Hellevoetsluis was supposed to fly back to the Netherlands on Saturday, but never showed up for her flight. Two men were arrested in Rotterdam on June 17th on suspicion of planning attacks in the Netherlands and France, the Public Prosecutor announced on Monday. The suspects are 22 and 27 years old, and both of Moroccan nationality. They were arrested based on information from intelligence agency AIVD, the Prosecutor said.

A young woman was attacked and raped in front of her home on Herman Bavinckstraat in Rotterdam on Saturday morning. She was rushed to hospital, where she underwent surgery and is currently still in intensive care. So far the police were unable to extensively talk to her. A 17-year-old boy from Soest disappeared in Italy during the early hours of Friday morning. The local authorities and some 200 volunteers searched for Koen van Keulen the whole weekend, but so far to no avail. On Sunday evening search dogs from the Netherlands joined the search, NOS reports.
The government of Curacao released a statement distancing itself from statements Minister Stef Blok of Foreign Affairs made about multicultural societies. The island's government "deeply regrets" the statements, because as foreign minister Blok also speaks on behalf of the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. A man stabbed himself in the middle of the street in Watergraafsmeer in Amsterdam on Thursday morning. He was taken to hospital, AT5 reports.
The incident happened around 10:00 a.m. Multiple police cars and ambulances responded to the scene, as the man's intentions were unclear, according to the broadcaster.

The supply of water to the Rijn river that enters at Spijk Nederland dropped below the minimum limit for the month of July, the national coordination committee for water distribution LCW announced. The LCW therefore issued a code yellow, which means that a water shortage may be imminent. An elderly couple were locked into the basement when robbers forced their way into their home in Susteren during the early hours of Monday morning. Zischa Vergooszen (77) managed to open the wooden cellar door by hacking at it for hours with a small knife, while her husband Gerard (82) lay seriously injured on the floor. Their family offered a reward of 5 thousand euros for the tip that leads to the robbers' arrest, 1Limburg reports.
A 4-year-old girl drowned in Waddinxveen on Tuesday evening. She was found in a ditch on Vondellaan at around 8:30 p.m., according to the police.
Bystanders took the girl out of the water and tried to resuscitate her. Emergency services took over from them. "Despite the live-saving actions, the girl died at the scene", the police said.
The police are investigating how the girl ended up in the water. Bystanders were offered victim support.
Michael P. was convicted of raping and murdering 25-year-old Anne Faber from Utrecht. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison on Tuesday, with compulsary institutionalized psychiatric treatment. He also has to pay Anne's family 56 thousand euros in compensation. The sentence is equal to what the Public Prosecutor demanded, NOS reports.
Relatives will commemorate their loved ones who were killed in the MH17 disaster at the National MH17 Monument in Vijfhuizen on Tuesday. Today is the fourth anniversary of the disaster that claimed 298 lives, including 196 Dutch.
Amsterdam fire department commander Leen Schaap received death threats from members of his own corps. He reported at least two threats to the police in February and March this year. The Public Prosecutor is investigating the death threats, a spokesperson confirmed to newspaper AD.
