The driver of a stolen car crashed into two police cars while being chased through Tilburg on Wednesday evening. He also tried to hit a motorcycle officer with the car. The chase ended when the car thief hit a tree. The 28-year-old man from Tilburg was arrested, Brabants Dagblad reports.

The police chased the man through Tilburg Zuid. The chase ended at the junction Ringbaan Zuid and Winkler Prinsstraat. Officers had to use pepper spray on the man before being able to arrest him. The suspect was taken to a police station and the stolen car was confiscated.

A 6-year-old girl was abducted for a short time in Weert, Limburg on Wednesday evening. She was playing in a playground on Maastrichtstraat when an unknown man bundled her into the trunk of his car. She was found unharmed, but terribly shaken, a short time later, the police said in a statement.

A 22-year-old Dutch woman is in prison in the Kurdish part of Iraq along with her 5-month old baby and her father. The Kurdish authorities suspect the woman of terrorism, the family's lawyer Taner Sen confirmed to RTL Nieuws after reports by NOS.

According to the lawyer, the woman and her father will appear before a judge on Wednesday.

A 3-year-old boy was injured after falling from the window of a third floor apartment on Loosduinsekade in The Hague on Tuesday afternoon. The child was rushed to the Sophia Children's Hospital in Rotterdam under police escort, AD reports.

A trauma helicopter landed at the scene to provide first aid.

How the child fell is not yet clear. The police believe it was an accident, a spokesperson said to the newspaper. 

The boy's current condition is unknown.

A man was killed in a shooting on Hoogheuvelstraat in Oss, Noord-Brabant during the early hours of Monday morning. Emergency services resuscitated the man at the scene, but he died a short time later, the police said on Twitter.

The police believe they know who the victim is, but he still has to be formally identified. The street was closed down and forensic investigators are at the scene looking for trace evidence. The investigation is expected to take several hours. Police officers are talking to local residents and call for witnesses to come forward.

His father Stephan de Wolff posted a photo of the boy's injuries , with a call for help and to bring the issue of bullying under national attention. The post was shared nearly 40 thousand times.

An ATM on Lieuwenburg in Leeuwarden was blown open around 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The ATM bombing caused a great deal of damage, the police said on Twitter.

The police closed down a wide area around the ATM and called in the fire brigade and the Ministry of Defense's explosive disposal team as a precaution, NU.nl reports. Several homes were evacuated. The municipality is arranging shelter for the residents.

Thunderstorms are raging across the Netherlands on Thursday. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code orange weather warning for the provinces of Noord-Holland, Flevoland and the IJsselmeergebied just after noon. A code yellow warning is in effect for the rest of the country.

The KNMI warns people in the code orange area of hail stones between 2 and 4 centimeters, wind gusts of around 75 kilometers an hour, and a lot of rain that can result in flooding. 

More heavy thunderstorms may develop in the coming hours, especially in the north of the country.

Navy corporal Iris Homan from Hengelo was found dead in a swimming pool on the island of Curacao on May 21st. Her husband Bart D., also a corporal in the Dutch navy, was arrested. D. is not suspected off murder or manslaughter, "but of a certain negligence that led to her death", a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor on the island said to De Stentor.

The storms prompted meteorological institute KNMI to issue a code orange weather warning - dangerous weather - for the entire country except the Wadden islands.

A man shot and killed two police officers and a passerby in the center of the Belgian city of Liege on Tuesday morning. He then took a cleaner hostage at a nearby school. The gunman was killed by the police. Prime Minister Mark Rutte expressed his condolences to his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel, he said on Twitter.
