Foreign headlines speak of disappointment, and swear it would be different if Tim Krul would have been subbed in before the fatal penalty shootouts that saw Argentina dominate and progress to the finals instead. 

A "lost dream", according to the Volkskrant. A "penalty drama", says the Algemeen Dagblad. Trouw called Wesley Sneijder unimpressive against Argentina.

The Netherlands' World Cup championship dreams have been shelved for another four years after Argentina beat the Dutch squad in penalties. Argentina put four penalties past goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, while Argentine keeper Sergio Romero blocked two of the Netherlands four shots.

The Ministry of Defence has decided that all F-35 fighter jets from the United States of America are to remain grounded for now due to an incident on the 23rd of June, in which one jet caught fire trying to take off. The Joint Strike Fighter unit (JSF/F-35) includes two Dutch aircrafts, which are also grounded. According to the Ministry of Defense, this is standard procedure.
