The number of Dutch politicians who reported being threatened increased significantly last year. The special police team that deals with threats against politicians received 331 reports last year, compared to 239 in 2016, the Public Prosecutor announced.

The Dutch government will re-examine whether it is possible to allow daycare centers to refuse children who haven't been vaccinated. A parliamentary majority, led by the three largest government parties, supports this, RTL Nieuws reports.

"Childcare must be a safe place. I understand the concerns about decreasing vaccination, that also affects childcare", State Secretary Tamara van Ark of Social Affairs said on Twitter. "That is why I want to investigate possibilities for organizations to refuse childcare for non-vaccinated children."

Pakistan summoned the Netherlands' envoy to the country to express their dissatisfaction about a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest organized by anti-Islam PVV leader Geert Wilders. "Deep concern was conveyed about this willful and malicious attempt to put Islam in a bad light", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad said, RTL Nieuws reports.

Singer Rihanna asked Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Sigrid Kaag of Development Cooperation to donate 100 million dollars to education in developing countries. "I know the Netherlands wanted to pledge to support to global education back in February, so I'd love if you joined me now", she wrote on Twitter.

The singer from Barabods wants the Netherlands to give 100 million dollars to the Global Partnership for Education. She is an ambassador for the organization, according to NOS.

The As-Soennah mosque in The Hague wants the authorities to do an in-depth investigation into the death of PVV city councilor Willie Dille. Such an investigation is in the interest of Dutch society and can help prevent further polarization, mosque chairman Abdelhaid Taheri said to newspaper AD.

"In the interests of solidarity and because of the unrest that has arisen, it is important that there is a large investigation into whether her accusations are true or not", Taheri said.

A 64-year-old man from Sittard will face the court in The Hague on Friday for insulting Turkish president Recept Tayyip Erdogan. In 2016 the man sent multiple offensive emails to the Turkish embassy in The Hague in which he compared Erdogan to Hitler and called him a "goat fucker", among other things, 1Limburg reports.

PVV leader Geert Wilders is shocked by the death of Willie Dille, a PVV city councilor in The Hague. "There are no words", he said in a statement released on Twitter

"Willie was a great, warm colleague who always looked out for her fellow human beings and for the youth in particular. We will miss her enormously. There are no words", Wilders said. Dille was a parliamentarian for the PVV for two years. "We wish her partner, children, her colleagues from the PVV The Hague faction, and everyone who loved her a lot of strength with this indescribable loss."

The Hague city councilor Willie Dille committed suicide on Wednesday, newspaper AD reports based on sources.

Earlier on Wednesday Dille posted a video on Facebook in which she claimed that she was  people on March 15th last year - the day of the municipal elections. The perpetrators wanted her to keep quiet in the city council, Dille said.

PVV city councilor in The Hague Willie Dille posted a video on Facebook on Wednesday in which she said that she was gang-raped by Muslims in March last year. The 53-year-old politician looks tired and emaciated in the now-removed video, newspaper AD reports. The PVV released a statement asking that Dillie be left in peace.

Armed with homemade street signs, members of De Bovengrondse changed street names to famous women including Mies Bouwman, Beyonce, Mien van Bree and Suze Groeneweg, NOS reports.

An Ugandan asylum seeker who was staying with the nuns of Missionaries of Charity in Amsterdam, was not allowed to return to the shelter after she revealed that she is a lesbian and helped with the Canal Pride Parade. The organizers of Pride Amsterdam is satisfied with a successful edition this year. All nine days of the festival were well attended and pleasant, and there were no noteworthy incidents, a spokesperson for the organization said to ANP.

Pride Amsterdam started last week with the Pride Walk demonstration through Amsterdam. Between 10 thousand and 12 thousand people participated this year, compared to 7,500 last year, the spokesperson said. "We think that's because the Netherlands is becoming more intolerant, which automatically creates a counter-sound."

The association for Dutch veterans that fought in the Korean war VOKS wants Prime Minister Mark Rutte to try and get the remains released of five Dutch soldiers who went missing or were killed in North Korea. "Only then can their family finally say goodbye to their loved ones in a dignified way", VOKS wrote in a letter to the Dutch Prime Minister, the Telegraaf reports.

Mayor Femke Halsema of Amsterdam is making an "ultimate attempt" to convince the lower house of Dutch parliament to hire more police officers. She is discussing this matter with Minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus of Justice and Security, the Telegraaf reports.

Halsema toured Amsterdam's Red Light District during the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the newspaper. She denies that there is complete "lawlessness", as Amsterdam's ombudsman Arre Zuurmond said in previous reports. "But it is true that there are far too few enforcers and officers."
