Two Dutch men were arrested at the Sziget festival in Hungary over the weekend on suspicion of drug dealing. Local news site 444 called the arrest the "biggest drug bust ever" at the festival.
A total of 451 bottles of narcotics, 128 grams of cannabis and a kilogram of ecstasy pills were confiscated from the 21- and 22-year-old suspects, according to NU.nl. Dutch households who like to spend the day out during the summer holidays now pay more to do so than five years ago. The costs involved in a day out on average increased more than consumer prices over the past five years, Statistics Netherlands reported on Wednesday. A total of 14 people were arrested during Canal Pride activities in Amsterdam on Friday night and Saturday, for crimes ranging from pickpocketing to sailing under the influence. "The police look back on a pleasant Canal Pride", the police said in a statement.

Hundreds of thousands of people packed the Nieuwe Herengracht, Amstel, and Prinsengracht for the Amsterdam Pride parade on Saturday. The 24th edition of the parade, held annually since 1996, featured 80 boats and was expected to draw between half a million and a million people.
The parade went off with no major incidents reported. Including support vessels, 147 boats took part in the event. When lined up end-to-end they stretched for nearly 2,240 meters, according to the fire department.

Tom Egbers suffered a heart attack while on vacation. The 61-year-old NOS Studio Sport presenter will therefore be off screen for a while, NOS announced on Tuesday.
Egbers is doing well, but needs time to rest and recover, according to the broadcaster.

The operator of carnival show Muizenstad - a miniature city filled with living mice - decided to cancel further appearances this year. The attraction was at the Tilburg fair last week. On Thursday animal activist Karen Soeters posted a video recorded in the the attraction on Wednesday, showing the mice in a tent that was 34 degrees Celsius at the time.

The annual fireworks festival in Scheveningen will not take place this year. The organization behind the festival and the municipality could not reach an agreement on the safety requirements, Bjorn van Dijl of the Internationaal Vuurwerkfestival foundation said to newspaper AD.
