A rush hour collision between a police vehicle and a civilian auto left one man hurt Thursday evening in Doetinchem. The victim was seriously wounded and transported to an area hospital after he was pulled from the wreckage by fire fighters.

The crash happened when a passenger car attempting to turn from Bedrijvenweg to Europaweg was struck by a police vehicle responding to a dispatch call. The police car's emergency lights and siren were activated at the time of the incident, newspaper AD  and broadcaster Omroep Gelderland reported.

Two more teenaged boys were arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 64-year-old man who was withdrawing cash from an ATM. A 16-year-old boy from Hoofddorp held by police earlier this week was released from custody.

Four separate shipments of cocaine were found by Customs officials at the Port of Rotterdam over the past week. All told, officials captured 1,457 kilograms of cocaine, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) said.

All of the cocaine made its way to the Netherlands from Brazil. The drugs were later destroyed, the OM said.

It started on December 12 when Customs officers found 450 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a shipment of grit used in the concrete industry. Another 500 kilograms of the drug was found frozen inside barrels of concentrated fruit pulp.

A 33-year-old Hungarian fugitive was arrested in Rotterdam after allegedly fleeing his home country where he was to serve a ten-year prison sentence. The man was captured by police in Rotterdam on Tuesday.

He was convicted in Hungary of “a sexual offense involving a minor,” Dutch police said. He was also sentenced for the possession of child pornography.

Police did not say how the man was discovered in the Netherlands. Hungarian officials asked the Fugitive Active Search Team in the Netherlands to find and arrest the convicted criminal.

It is not up to municipalities to restrict this freedom, only parliament and the Senate can decide to do so, the court ruled, NOS reports.

The court in Rotterdam sentenced Rahiied A. to 20 years in prison and institutionalized psychiatric treatment for killing five patients by giving them overdoses of insulin. In four cases the court convicted the Rotterdam nurse of murder, saying that there is enough evidence to prove he killed these women by administering insulin without medical necessity. In one case he was convicted of manslaughter.

Football club Telstar released a statement on Wednesday, distancing itself from the behavior of its fans in a cup match against Ajax. During the match, fans shouted racist slurs at Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, NU.nl reports.

Several people said on social media that spectators shouted "banana" at Onana, among other things. During the match Telstar said that it took note of events. The club released a statement afterwards.

The authorities in Dubai deported Ridouan Taghi to the Netherlands on Wednesday. The man considered to be one of the most wanted criminals in the Netherlands arrived on chartered plane, under guard of the Dutch police, during the early hours of Thursday morning, the Public Prosecutor said.

Police officers rescued a 3-year-old boy from the Noord-Willemskanaal in Tynaarlo, Drenthe on Wednesday. The toddler was rushed to hospital in serious condition. A 39-year-old man from Utrecht was arrested for possible involvement, Dagblad van het Noorden reports.

The child is also from Utrecht. Whether the arrested man is his father, is not yet known. 

The police responded to a report of someone being in the canal near Heidenheim in Tynaarlo at around 5:45 p.m. A police spokesperson could not tell the newspaper how the boy ended up in the water.

An ATM bombing caused a massive amount of damage on the corner of Deventerstraat and Regentesselaan on Thursday morning. "Luckily no one was inured, but the destruction is enormous", the Gelderland police said on Twitter.

The area around the bombing was cordoned off, according to Omroep Gelderland. The bombing happened at an SNS Bank ATM at around 4:45 a.m. The blast ripped off part of the office building's roof and facade. Whether the perpetrators managed to steal any cash, is not yet clear.

The police in Amersfoort arrested three protesters on Wednesday for throwing fireworks at motorcycle police officers. Two of the three officers involved had to be hospitalized with hearing problems. A fourth protester was arrested for hindering an ambulance, the police said.

The fireworks incident in Amersfoort happened at around 6:00 p.m. on Oude Lageweg. The officers were guiding protesting farmers and construction workers when fireworks were thrown at them from a passing van. The police immediately intervened and arrested three people from Amersfoort.

The police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Hoofddorp for involvement in a stabbing in which a 64-year-old man died on Monday. The man was attacked while he and his wife were withdrawing cash from an ATM at the Toolenburg shopping center in Hoofddorp.

The stabbing happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. Attempts to resuscitate the victim were to no avail. He died at the scene.

A woman from Iran drowned on the Channel between France and England and was found in Dutch waters. Her body was discovered a few dozen kilometers off the coast of IJmuiden in August, NOS reports. Two suspected human traffickers will appear in court in France on Wednesday.

As far as is known, this was the first time that the body of a drowned migrant was discovered in Dutch waters. The suspects are a Dutch-Guinean man and a man from Afghanistan. They were arrested in October and face 10 years in prison for assisting undocumented migrants and manslaughter, the broadcaster writes.

Before his capture this week, suspected drug lord and organized crime boss Ridouan Taghi was in the Arab emirate of Dubai since 2016, the Chief of Police there told Dutch news program Nieuwsuur. Taghi, sought by Dutch police for years in connection with the murders of nine people, was found hiding in a luxury villa in a new district of Dubai.

Witnesses told local broadcaster Rijnmond that officers were seen Tuesday morning storming into Safe Deposit Nederland, a company which rents out safety deposit boxes in the heart of the city.

Police were searching for two suspects involved in the fatal stabbing of a man at a shopping center in Hoofddorp on Monday night. The two men were seen running away after the victim was stabbed, one wearing a black helmet and dark clothing, the other wearing large glasses and a black Northface jacket with a hood, police said.

"The man stood with his wife around 8:50 pm withdrawing money, and was robbed by two men," police said. "A struggle arose in which the man was stabbed, and he was mortally wounded. The man, a 64-year-old resident of Hoofddorp, died at the scene."

The suspects are five men and a woman between the ages of 29 and 45 years, the police said on Wednesday.
