Following the missile strike and subsequent crash of Malaysia Airlines flight 17, the Airline is now focusing on working with emergency responders and authorities. Full support will be given to the on-going investigations, the airline said in a statement, and the company has deployed a "Go Team" of caregivers and volunteers to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport to assist family members.

Dutch airline KLM has instructed pilots to avoid Eastern Ukrainian airspace following the crash of a plane believed to be Malaysia Airlines flight 17. The Boeing 777 was allegedly brought down by a missile strike in the Donetsk region of the Ukraine in an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

Ukranine President Petro Poroshenko said the Ukranian military did not attempt to shoot down any aircraft after reports surfaced that Malaysia Airlines flight 17 crashed there on Thursday en route to Kuala Lumpur. The flight originated in Amsterdam. All 295 people onboard are believed to have been killed, with a Ukrainian government advisor saying the flight was brought down with a missile.
