A man was shot on Dadeltuin in Rotterdam on Sunday evening. He was rushed to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, the police said on Twitter. Three men were arrested a short time later in connection with the shooting.

The shooting happened just after 6:00 p.m. Bystanders found the victim, a 19-year-old from the city, next to a car in a parking lot, NOS reports.

Witnesses reported a dark colored vehicle leaving the scene of the crime.

The three suspects were arrested a few streets away a short time after the shooting. They were in a car.

A man accused of sharing nude footage of the Dutch women's handball team without their permission was convicted by the court in Leeuwarden on Friday. He was sentenced to a one month suspended jail sentence and 80 hours of community service, with two years of probation. He will serve the month behind bars if he violates the terms of his probation, the court said.

The suspect held in connection with a body found in the water near Breukelen was remanded into custody late on Thursday. The 30-year-old man from Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, reportedly named Nick B., was ordered to remain behind bars for 14 days while the investigation into the case continues, a spokesperson for the Midden-Nederland courthouse said.

The court in Utrecht found Gokmen T. guilty of opening fire on a tram in Utrecht last March, killing four people. He was sentenced to life in prison on Friday. The sentence is equal to what the Public Prosecutor demanded.

Police in Rotterdam said they were investigating an argument which resulted in a 25-year-old man being shot in the leg. It happened Tuesday at about 10:45 p.m. on Schoenebergerweg, and there were no suspects reported in custody two days later.

Police said they responded to reports of a brawl. Once on scene, "Officers found an injured man. He was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his calf," police stated.

The first prisoner in the Netherlands to be diagnosed with coronavirus was discovered in the prison hospital ward in Scheveningen, the correctional facilities agency DJI confirmed on Thursday. No prisoners in the Netherlands have been allowed visitation since Saturday, with some exceptions.

Prisoners are allowed meetings with their attorneys, but appointments need to be made in advance at least through April 6. Juvenile detainees are still allowed visitation with their parents and guardians.

A person was found dead in a home on Hoefstraat in Tilburg early on Thursday morning. The police believe they were killed in a crime.

The body was found at around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, the Tilburg police said on Twitter. "Investigation showed that the person may have been killed by violence," the police said

The criminal investigation department is at the scene for trace evidence investigation.

The municipality of Rotterdam is presenting a plan on Wednesday to tackle the increased violence among young people in the city. Schools with many problems will get more police supervision, and the municipality will provide subsidies to train students and teaches on dealing with aggression, Trouw reports.

Police were still searching for two men involved in a drive-by shooting in Dordrecht, Zuid-Holland on Sunday. The violent incident left a 43-year-old man and 35-year-old woman wounded.

The two were stepping into a car on Van Oldenbarneveltplein just before 9:45 p.m. when two men dressed in black riding on a scooter opened fire on the couple. Both were shot several times.

"The gunmen rode off on a scooter, leaving the victims seriously injured. There was no trace of the perpetrators," police said in a statement.

The trial against the first for suspects in the downing of flight MH17 will continue for the time being, the court in The Hague announced. The next hearing on Monday, March 23, will definitely happen, but in a slimmed-down form.

Only essential people involved will be allowed at the hearing. So no relatives of the victims, press or other interested parties. Only one of the three prosecutors will be in the courtroom, according to NOS. And fewer lawyers are also expected.

Police in Amsterdam say a 21-year-old Scottish man who was visiting the city for a weekend visit disappeared after leaving his hotel Saturday morning. Matthew McCombe was last seen leaving the Novotel in Amsterdam Zuid at about 6:15 a.m. walking towards the RAI convention center, police told NL Times based on images captured by security cameras.

He was in town to celebrate his birthday with some friends. All of his belongings, including his phone and wallet, were left in his hotel room, police said. He has not been heard from since leaving.

Three people were taken into custody on Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Amsterdam Oost. Police responded to a home on Lorentzlaan in the city's Watergraafsmeer neighborhood at about 2:50 p.m. after a call to emergency services about an injured person.

"At the scene the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head," police said. He was revived by paramedics, but died from his injuries.

Police in Amsterdam said they found over 100 kilograms of powdered heroin in a home after they chased two people who tried to flee the residence to avoid arrest. One of the two, a 44-year-old man, was caught after a short foot pursuit.

Forensic investigators entered the home and found the heroin there. The street value was estimated at between two and four million euros, according to addiction treatment organization Jellinek.

Authorities say a police officer who was arrested over his involvement in an off-duty “violent incident” has been suspended. “Drugs were found during the investigation,” police note, and the criminal case is ongoing.

Two airline passengers were arrested separately at Schiphol Airport this month carrying a combined total of about 275 thousand euros in cash. Both men were caught at airport security checkpoints, and neither had a valid reason for holding the money, authorities said.

The first suspect is a 38-year-old Ukranian man who was found with 195 thousand dollars (€174,600) in a plastic bag inside his backpack. He was destined for Ecuador, but was taken into custody on March 1, said the Marechausseee, the military branch tasked with protecting Dutch borders and airports.
