A stabbing at a mental health institute in Maastricht left multiple people injured on Wednesday morning. The victims are one patient and multiple GGZ employees, according to 1Limburg.

Emergency services responded to the clinic on Vijverdalseweg at around 6:20 a.m. 

A police spokesperson could not tell 1Limburg anything about the severity of the victims' injuries, or the motive for the stabbing.

A 53-year-old Dutch man was shot dead in an armed robbery on Curacao on Tuesday. Four masked and armed men robbed an apartment complex in the neighborhood of Schelpwijk, a few kilometers away from Willemstad, during the early hours of Tuesday morning, ANP reports.

The robbers first forced their way into one apartment, and injured an Asian man. They then broke open the door of another apartment, where they shot the Dutch man. According to the police, the Dutch man was killed with an aimed shot.

The robbers fled.

The police are investigating.

Two people were found killed in a nature preserve near Heerlen. The man and woman were the victims of an act of violence at the Brunssummerheide, police in the Limburg province said.

A person walking in the nature area found the woman's lifeless body along with a dog and called police just before noon. About 30 minutes later a dead man was found near the first crime scene, which was then reported in to police. He also was accompanied by a dog.

Poet Wolfgang Frommel and his circle of friends committed sexual abuse for years, including with minors, former judge Frans Bauduin concluded in a report. The Bauduin Committee investigated the activities of Frommel and his circle at his Amsterdam cultural foundation Castrum Peregrini in the period from 1942 until his death in 1986. The investigation was requested the foundation into its founder, NOS reports.

Two neglected boys found locked into an apartment in the Zaanstreek region last summer, are doing well under the circumstances, the police said after a Facebook post by the police inspector who found the young children caused a commotion on social media, NOS reports.

The Netherlands' authority for consumers and markets ACM launched an investigation into whether contractors made illegal price agreements in the ground, road and hydraulic engineering sector in the municipality of Amsterdam. The ACM received tips that different contractors made potentially forbidden agreements in government tenders, such as making agreements on the level of prices quoted to ensure who will receive the contract, NU.nl reports.

Some 300 canoes were destroyed in a fire at canoe rental company Rofra in Valkenswaard during the early hours of Tuesday morning. The police and fire department suspect arson. "There is someone who is really angry at me", Rofra owner Michel Geenen said to newspaper AD.

The fire at the company on Molenstraat started just after midnight. The fire brigade responded with two fire trucks and two water tanks. Firefighters managed to get the fire under control within 30 minutes, but not fast enough to save any of the canoes.

A quarter of all websites that offer illegal downloads are hosted on Dutch servers, according to a list of such websites posted by the United States and European Union. That makes the Netherlands the second largest provider of illegal download sites, after the United States which hosts 34 percent of such sites, NU.nl reports.

The list features websites that offer torrents with illegal downloads, as well as sites that illegally stream copyrighted material.

A man and a woman were killed in a drive-by shooting in the Surinamese capital of Paramaribo on Sunday evening. The male victim is Dutch, the Telegraaf reports based on information in Surinamese media.

The shooting happened on Wilhelminastraat, near a gas station. A photo in the Telegraaf's possession shows the man's lifeless body lying on the back of a pickup truck. The woman's body is close to the truck on the ground. Both victims have bullet wounds.

The body of a 56-year-old woman was found in the woods in Scheveningen on Saturday. The police believe she was killed by violence. Local residents are shocked and disturbed by what happened, Omroep West reports.

Passersby spotted the body on Saturday afternooon and called the police. The Scheveningen woods, close to the World Forum and Madurodam, is a popular place for locals to walk their dog. The victim also did so on a regular basis, according to the police. A large forensic investigation was done at the scene on Saturday and Sunday. And the police are looking for witnesses.

A new key suspect in the disappearance of British girl Madeleine McCann in Portugal in 2007, was once also a suspect in the murder of Dutch boy Nicky Verstappen in 1998, the Telegraaf reports.

The suspect in question is 48-year-old German pedophile Matin Ney. He was sentenced to life in prison for abducting and murdering three German boys in 1992, 1995 and 2001, and sexually abusing dozens of other children, according to news.com.au. Ney was in Portugal working on a project for homeless people when Maddie McCann disappeared, according to the news site.

Two frightened and seriously neglected boys were rescued from an apartment in the Zaanstreek region. Police inspector Tom Verweij found the two children, dressed only in their underwear, on a piping hot day after a call from a neighbor, he said in a Facebook post. According to Verweij, the kids showed animal behavior and weren't able to talk. He did not mention exact dates or the exact location.

A 24-year-old man died in hospital after he was shot on the street in Amsterdam-Zuidoost on Thursday night. The police are looking for two perpetrators, NU.nl reports.

The shooting happened on Hoptille. The man was critically injured. First responders resuscitated him at the scene, before rushing him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The police did a forensic investigation at the scene. Officers searched the area for two suspects on Thursday night, but so far no arrests were made. Investigators call on witnesses to come forward.

The student campuses in Amsterdam are not safe, student union ASVA warns. The union received 39 reports of incidents over the last two months alone, mainly involving incidents of violence, sexual offenses, robbery and burglary, AD reports.

A large part of these reports came from the Spinoza Campus and the nearby apartment buildings Echtenstein and Bergwijkdreef in Amsterdam Zuidoost. Students also feel unsafe at the campus on the NDSM wharf, according to ASVA.

Minister Sander Dekker for Legal Protection called reports that psychiatric prisoners may be involved in the killing of a 72-year-old man in his Lelystad apartment "disturbing". 

The victim was found dead in his home on Sunday. The police believe he was killed somewhere during the weekend of April 19th to 21st. Two men aged 48 and 35 from Almere were arrested for involvement in his murder.

The number of adult Dutch currently in Syrian-Kurdish camps or detention centers increased to 55 over the past month, according to new figures from intelligence service AIVD. Three quarters of them are women. They have a total of 85 children with them, some of whom they took with them from the Netherlands, the rest were born in Syria, NOS reports.

A woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in a home on Paulus Buysstraat in Vlaardingen on Thursday morning. A suspect was arrested.

There were three young children in the home at the time of the stabbing, according to RTV Rijnmond. They were not injured and were taken to a safe place, the regional broadcaster writes.

The police would not confirm the presence of the children to the Telegraaf. According to the newspaper, the suspect turned himself in to the police.

The police arrested a second suspect in connection with the death of a 72-year-old man in his Lelystad home. Like the first suspect arrested in this case, 35-year-old Michael B. was previously sentenced to institutionalized psychiatric treatment, the Telegraaf reports. 

72-year-old Gerrit Thomassen was found dead in his home on Rode Klif in Lelystad on Sunday. On Monday the police arrested 48-year-old Jan van K. on suspicion of involvement in Thomassen's death.

The city of Oss is being plagued by car fires. A Renault Clio going up in flames on Tollenstraat early on Wednesday morning, marked the 19th car fire of the year in the city. The police are baffled, the Telegraaf reports.

The police have been investigating the car fires in Oss for months. "This year we have had 19 car fires in the city of Oss. In most cases we assume arson, although that could not be established with every fire", the police said.

The police found a body near the IJssel between Brummen and Zutphen on Wednesday afternoon. The body was found near a car belonging to Nico Nijman from Zutphen, who has been missing since April 24th, Omroep Gelderland reports.

The police are in the process of identifying the body, which was found at around 1:00 p.m. It is therefore not yet clear whether it is the 57-year-old missing Zutphen man.

The area was cordoned off for police investigation.
