A 24-year-old man was arrested for working at the Jeroen Bosch Hospital in Den Bosch as a nurse without having the proper qualifications to do so. "The suspect monitored patients and possibly administered them medication without having any qualifications to perform these actions," the Public Prosecution Service (OM) said on Thursday. The man is in custody on suspicion of fraud, forgery and theft.

Four people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with 2,500 kilograms of methamphetamine found in a warehouse in Rotterdam last year - the biggest meth bust in Europe to date. The suspects are also linked to a crystal meth labs found in Wateringen and The Hague, the police said in a statement.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with a May 1 arson attack targeting a transmission mast a short distance outside of Maasbree, a village in Limburg.

Police received several tips from the public after having alerted people on May 22 to the appearance of the suspect's car. Officers were then able to apprehend the suspect. According to the police, the man is currently being held at a local station, where he will be interrogated by authorities.

A police officer was arrested on Monday morning on suspicion of "committing crimes, including money laundering and the possession of narcotics", the police said in a statement. The officer is also suspected of serious dereliction of duty. 

The suspected officer worked in the Noord-Nederland unit. In addition to being arrested, the officer was also suspended. The investigation against them is ongoing.

"The police are not making any further announcements at this time."

A 28-year-old woman was injured in a shooting at the Verbindingsdam in Amsterdam's Oostelijk Havengebied on Sunday morning. A 29-year-old man from Amsterdam was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the shooting on Monday, according to AT5.

A 25-year-old man from Zevenbergen was arrested by the police on Friday evening after plowing his car into two properties, causing damage to the residents' gardens.

The incident, which took place at around 09:20 p.m., prompted the two men who had been in the vehicle to flee the scene after crashing at high-speed on Arembergstraat near the center of the village. Nobody suffered an injury as a result the incident, the police have confirmed.

Police in Ermelo have arrested a man on Saturday in connection with an arson incident earlier this week, which left five trucks in flames behind a duck slaughterhouse on Fokko Kortlanglaan. The 34-year-old Noord-Brabant man is currently being investigated for his involvement in Wednesday's incident.

Researchers at Amsterdam UMC are now able to more accurately home in on the time of death of victims at a crime scene using a newly-developed technique, the hospital center announced on Saturday.

Currently, time of death is recorded with a margin of error of several hours, according to the researchers. Using the new technique, which combines temperature and weight measurements, the margin of error is reduced to under an hour.

Police have reportedly arrested as many as 30 protesters in The Hague on Saturday for failing to comply with social distancing regulations laid down by acting mayor Johan Remkes earlier in the week.

The protest, which began spreading on the Rijnstraat in the Koekamp over the course of the early afternoon, drew crowds of several dozen people in opposition to the government's Covid-19 response and to 5G technology.

According to police, the protestors had been warned about the regulations, and were taken into custody once it was clear that the ordinance was being ignored.

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the April 10 arson of a transmission mast in Dronten, the police confirmed on Friday. The arrest was revealed as a buried detail in a document police released on the 29 telecom masts that were intentionally set on fire since the beginning of April.

A 51-year-old Brazilian man was arrested in Rotterdam on Wednesday after he was found to be carrying 525 thousand euros in a large shopping bag. He was taken into custody on charges of money laundering, police said on Friday.

Acting on a tip, police went to the area around the Argonautenweg in the city’s 110-Morgen neighborhood. That’s where they saw the suspect getting into a car with the large shopping bag.

“Then the man was stopped in his car, and the big shopper appeared to be full of money,” police said in a statement. The money was counted and taken into evidence.

An early morning shooting in Rotterdam left one man dead in front of a home there. Two people were seen fleeing the scene of the crime, and police said they were captured by authorities a short time later.

It happened just before 7:10 a.m. on Bramentuin in Rotterdam-IJsselmonde, where the gunshot victim succumbed to his injuries. The man died at the scene despite efforts from first responders to resuscitate him.

A man who used an ax to attack people in The Hague Thursday night was shot by police on Thursday. A local news outlet said he suddenly went berzerk and struck a cyclist after he had sat on a bench there for an extended period of time.

Several paramedics crews, including a trauma team in a helicopter, were sent to the street in the Scheveningen district between 6:45 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. The shooting happened at least an hour later.

Amsterdam is set to assess the state of tolerance towards minority groups in Amsterdam following a spate of allegedly homophobic threats and violence in the city, Mayor Femke Halsema said on Thursday.

"There is a street culture in Amsterdam that is intolerant and intimidating for many minority groups. We need to initiate conversations so that the standard is clear: in Amsterdam you are accepted and you belong. People must be able to be individuals here," said Halsema, speaking at a debate with the city council on the matter.

Five trucks went up in flames on Fokko Kortlanglaan in Ermelo during the early hours of Thursday morning. The trucks were parked behind duck slaughterhouse Tomassen Duck-To. Director Gertjan Tomassen blames the arson on animal activists, Omroep Gelderland reports. 

Tomassen said that he saw the animal activists start the fire with jerry cans on surveillance camera footage. He also said that a petrol bomb was placed in the factory, but that it did not go off, according to the broadcaster.

The number of people found trying to illegally cross from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom at Dutch ports decreased significantly in the first quarter of this year, according to figures released by the Koninklijke Marechaussee. A suspect in a "serious incident" was shot by police Wednesday afternoon and later died, officials said. Little information was released about what unfolded, with police only saying that it was a "chaotic situation," according to a local broadcaster.

A trauma team was dispatched by ambulance to the Beresteinseweg in Hilversum just before 5 p.m., with police confirming the shooting shortly after. Police announced that the man died around 7:30 p.m. According to De Gooi en Eemlander, the suspect died at the scene.

Gökmen T., who has been detained for life for his carrying out of the attack last March, was found guilty of raping a woman in her home in July 2017.

The court in The Hague sentenced three men from Mexico to six years in prison for involvement in the production of crystal meth. The men were caught in the act of producing meth in a warehouse in in Wateringen on February 26 last year. 

The suspects came to the Netherlands from Mexico. They were transported to the warehouse every day in February 2019 to produce the highly addictive drug, according to the court.
