The company of lingerie designer Marlies Dekkers is bankrupt. The court in Rotterdam declared the bankruptcy on Wednesday. The curator has negotiated with investment company  Karmijn Kapitaal and they entered into an agreement to make a restart with the healthy parts of the lingerie company. 

Marlies Dekkers became world famous, especially by producing bras with straps above the cups.

Lingerie company Marlies Dekkers is not doing well. The company has operated the last years with losses and also the balance for last year shows a shortage of 2.9 million.

The spokesman of Marlies Dekkers informed Quote that there is no seizure on the company and that they are in discussion with a bank about a refinancing with the help of new investors. “Our discussions with a potential investor are well advanced. Although we can’t give any clarity on the outcome of the discussions at this moment, we are confident that we can finish them positively.”

Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and owner of América Móvil offered to take over Dutch phone company Royal KPN NV for 2.40 euro a share.

América Móvil which owns almost 30 percent of KPN, made the public offer in a statement today.

Last month América Móvil ended an agreement with KPN, after KPN agreed to sell its German business E-Plus to Spain’s Telefonica, that capped the stake of the Mexican company in the Dutch phone carrier at about 30 percent. Slim now has more freedom to use KPN to expand in Europe.

Construction company BAM and dredging company Van Oord have been chosen for building a new container port in the British city of Liverpool. The deal is about more than 85 million euro. This was announced by the two companies on Wednesday.

The new container terminal will be commissioned by Peel Ports and will be situated at the river mouth of the river Mersey. The transhipment harbor will be made suitable for vessels with a loading capacity of up to 13,500 pieces of 20-foot containers, of which two can berth at the same time. The new port will be ready for use in 2015.
