A handwritten poem by Anne Frank was sold at auction on Wednesday for 140 thousand euros. It is not known who bought it, AT5 reports.

Auction house Bubb Kuyper in Haarlem valued the poem between 30 thosuand and 50 thousand euros. Such a handwritten document by the young Jewish girl very rarely ends up on the market.

The poem is from a poetry album by Christiane van Maarssen, a friend of Anne. The poem is dated 28 March 1942 and addressed to "Dear Cri-Cri", a nickname for Cristiane.

A poem handwritten by Anne Frank on March 28th, 1942 will soon be auctioned offat auction house Bubb Kuper in Haarlem on Wednesday. The starting price is 30 thousand euros, NOS reports.

Anne Frank wrote the poem for a poetery album her friend Christiane van Maarssen was making. Her sister jacqueline van Maarssen - Anne's best friend - put the poem up for sale. The poem consists of eight lines, is addressed to (translated to English) "Dear Cri-Cri" and ends with the words "In memory of Anne Frank."

It may be years before the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam can welcome back two stolen Van Gogh paintings recovered in Italy three weeks ago. The paintings are evidence in a case against the Italian Mafia and can't be released until after the trial, stolen art hunter Arthur Brand said to BNR.

"In Italy trials take even longer than in the Netherlands, so it may still take a year before they're back", Brand, who was involved in the search for the paintings, said to the broadcaster.
