Police give description of Dutch tourist missing in Curaçao
The Curaçao police released a description and photos of the Dutch tourist who has been missing since Wednesday and was last seen in a nature reserve on the island. The man, 45-year-old Daniel Dresden from Leiden, did not return to his family after a walk in the area near Playa Jeremi and the Christoffelberg on Tuesday.
Police are concerned about the tourist because he only had a liter of water on him. The authorities released two photos of Dresden, along with a brief description mentioning that he is 1.92 meters tall.
Anyone on the island with relevant information about the missing person is requested to report this to the police. Since Wednesday, an extensive search for Dresden has been carried out by police, volunteers, soldiers and park rangers. A Coast Guard helicopter and drones with thermal imaging cameras from a local nature organization were deployed in the search.
Police say no phone signal from the man was found. The search area was further expanded on Friday to the nearby areas of Santa Cruz and Knip.
