Sunnier Sunday with temps in the 20s expected all week
Though Sunday was predicted to start off with a heavily cloudy morning, the sun will appear much more frequently as the day advances, meteorological institute KNMI predicted. The high temperature should remain between 20 and 21 degrees Celsius throughout most of the country, though it could be a tad cooler in Noord-Holland.
Light, localized rain showers could develop in the southeastern portion of the Netherlands, but it will largely remain dry elsewhere. The mild to moderate sustained wind out of the west should be no stronger than 19 kilometers per hour.
Sunday will start at about 15 degrees and then peak up to 21 in the late afternoon, but it will cool to a low of about 10 degrees overnight. Fog was expected in the overnight period leading into Monday morning, with a 60-90 percent chance of a Code Yellow weather warning for dense fog.
The high temperature during the week is expected to be a few degrees above the historical average. It should largely range from 20 to 23 degrees across the Netherlands, peaking on Tuesday and Friday afternoon.
Most days will be dry and sunny, the KNMI said. There is a higher chance of rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday. After Friday, the temperature could come down a bit, but may remain slightly above average with a daily chance of precipitation of about 40 percent.
