Police tactical team boards Eindhoven train, searches station for wanted person
Police in Eindhoven on Thursday evening sent a team of heavily armed and masked officers into a packed and busy train as part of a search for suspect. Authorities were vague about the person of interest, saying only that it concerned an incident in Rotterdam, according to Omroep Brabant.
"We have just been able to arrest a person," police said just before 7:15 p.m. The arrest was made at the request of another division, the Oost Brabant division of the police noted.
Police confirmed another search had been conducted on a train, saying that investigators were looking for any possible relevant "objects,." They did not specify what was sought and did not immediately disclose if anything was found.

Witnesses in one train car said they were told to put their hands in the air as police looked over everyone and everything. One person said on Twitter that the entire ordeal took about an hour and 15 minutes before passengers were allowed to exit the train safely.
Two platforms at the Eindhoven train station were shut down and evacuated during the course of the investigation, police confirmed. More platforms were cleared, and train traffic in the area was brought to a standstill.
"There are no trains running to and from Eindhoven due to police efforts," said national railway NS. The train service was expected to start back up by 8:30 p.m.
