Weekend weather: Code Yellow storm on Friday, sunshine on Sunday
The weather in the Netherlands will have two faces this weekend, according to Weeronline. Friday will by stormy with strong winds - KNMI issued a code yellow warning. Saturday will be dreary and rainy. But Sunday will be largely dry with long periods of sunshine. Maximum temperatures throughout the weekend will hover around 14 degrees Celsius.
Meteorological institute KNMI has a code yellow storm warning in effect for the entire country, starting at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. A code yellow warning for strong winds is also in effect for the coastal provinces. According to the meteorological institute, storms may be accompanied by hail and gusts of wind up to 70 kilometers per hour inland, and up to 80 kilometers per hour along the coast.
"Traffic and outside activities may be hindered. Avoid open water and open areas, do not shelter under trees. Follow weather reports and warnings", the KNMI warns.
Saturday will not be as stormy as Friday, but will definitely be wet. Weeronline expects long periods of rain and drizzle. The day will be largely cloudy, with little room for sunshine. Sunday will be a lot more pleasant. The sun will shine regularly, only occasionally being hidden by clouds. A few showers are possible, but most places will remain dry.
After the weekend there is much less chance of rain, and more chance of regular sunshine. The chance of fog increases during the night and morning. Afternoon temperatures will range between 13 and 15 degrees.
