Missing Child Alert: 12-year-old girl missing from Tilburg
The police issued a Missing Child Alert this morning for 12-year-old Eline from Tilburg. The girl cycled to a friend's home on Wednesday evening. She never arrived there and never returned home.
Eline was last seen at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Heikant district in Tilburg-Noord. She is about 1.6 meters tall with a normal build and long, curly blond hair which she usually wears loose. She was wearing light blue jeans and riding a black bicycle with red tires, a red saddle and a front luggage rack.
"We don't know where she is at all", a police spokesperson said to AD. "This is also not like her, we know now. We are very worried." The police call on anyone with information about Eline's whereabouts to contact them at once.
A Missing Child Alert is part of the Amber Alert, but is only distributed regionally, according to the newspaper. The Alert for Eline was broadcast in a radius of 25 kilometers in and around Tilburg.
A nationwide Amber Alert is rarely issued. The last time it was used was for missing Hania from Rotterdam. She was later found in the company of an American man in a Rotterdam hotel. The man was arrested. She had met him online. The only recent Amber Alert that did not result in the child being found was the one for Amsterdam girl Insiya Hemani. The then 2-year-old girl was kidnapped from her grandmother's Amsterdam apartment in September 2016. She was taken to India by her father, where she still lives. Six people involved in her abduction were recently sentenced to up to 4 years in prison.
