Chilly, cloudy weather to give way to sunshine from Wednesday

While the week is starting out chilly with occasional showers, the weather will turn more summery from Wednesday, Buienradar expects. Maximums will start climbing from Wednesday, reaching a summery 27 degrees Celsius by Friday. And while the clouds will not disappear completely, there will be more sunshine.

"It will not be radiantly sunny", meteorologist Arjan Willemse of Buienradar said to RTL Nieuws. "Cloud fields will keep coming, but it will certainly be a lot more summery than now."

Limburg will have the hottest weather, for those looking for a last-minute holiday destination in the Netherlands. In Europe, France and Spain will be the sunniest holiday destinations this week. "In Northern Spain it is between 25 and 32 degrees, with some thunderstorms. In the interior of Spain it can even reach 40 degrees in the coming week", Willemse said to the broadcaster.

Monday is expected to be predominantly cloudy with maximums ranging between 17 and 19 degrees. On Tuesday the sun will start breaking through the cloud cover from the west, and afternoon temperatures will climb to between 18 and 23 degrees.
