€150 million in cocaine, destined for Netherlands, stopped in Antwerp
Customs investigators in Antwerp seized a massive amount of cocaine hidden in a rice shipment at the port there. Over three thousand kilos of cocaine was found, with an estimated street value of 150 million euros.
The drug packages, valued at 150 million euros, were found during a routine search. The shipment was likely destined for the Den Haag region, according to Dutch police. No arrests were made in the case.
Belgian officials contacted authorities in the Netherlands to conduct a joint investigation into the case. Authorities from the two nations also worked together on a major case nearly two years ago when 3,800 kilograms of cocaine was found at the port. Two Dutch people were arrested in that case.
Earlier this week, over 600 kilograms of cocaine was found at the Port of Antwerp hidden among cans of tuna.
