Shots fired at Uithoorn home, suspect arrested in Amsterdam
Shots were fired at a home on Rode Klaver in Uithoorn on Tuesday night, after bullet holes were already discovered in the home's front door on Tuesday morning. The police arrested a suspect in Amsterdam, NH Nieuws reports.
"Thanks to tips after the shooting, we got a view of a van that we found in Amsterdam", a police spokesperson said to NH Nieuws. "We pushed that vehicle off the road on Tongerenstraat." The driver of the van was arrested. A passenger fled on foot. The police are still looking for him.
Local residents told the broadcaster that they also heard bangs on the street on Monday night. On Tuesday morning the resident discovered three bullet holes in the front door. "But he did not hear any bangs", the police spokesperson said. The bullets from Tuesday night's shooting shattered a window.
As far as is known, no one was hurt. The motive behind the shootings is unclear.
