Over 13 kilos crystal meth found in Rotterdam apartment
The police found over 13 kilograms of crystal meth and 1.2 kilograms of cocaine in an apartment on Kees Pijlstraat in Rotterdam on Wednesday. A 35-year-old man was arrested.
Officially the apartment is registered as vacant, but patrolling police officers previously noticed signs of someone living there. At the time, no one was home. When the police returned on Wednesday, they found a 35-year-old man who claimed to live in the apartment.
When the officers looked around, they saw scales and packaging materials in the kitchen - items that can be used in drug trade, the police said. In the bedroom they saw a block sticking out of a bag. The officers recognized it as probably hard drugs and arrested the resident.
A further search of the house revealed 13.3 kilograms of crystal meth and 1,500 euros in cash. Forensic testing established that the package in the bag contained 1.2 kilograms of cocaine.
The 35-year-old man is in custody and will be arraigned on Friday.
