Massive pileup on Dutch highway; 2 hurt
Two people were hospitalized after a massive pileup on the A12 off-ramp to Zoetermeer on Thursday. Between 25 and 30 cars collided with each other, a spokesperson for the police confirmed to NU.nl.
The Zoetermeer and The Hague region faced icy and slick roads on Thursday morning, which caused several minor accidents and traffic jams. The police can not yet say whether iciness on the road also caused this pileup.
The off-ramp was cordoned off and the police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The police initially reported that three people were injured, but the spokesperson confirmed to NU.nl that only two people were hurt.
