New Year's day starts out cloudy, but with chance of sun
The new year is starting out cloudy with a chance of rain for the Netherlands. In the course of the afternoon the clouds will clear up somewhat, and especially the north of the country will have some sunshine, according to Weerplaza.
Afternoon temperatures will climb to a mild 9 degrees, though northwesterly wind means that it will feel colder.
The milder weather is ideal for those taking the New Year's plunge this year. The sea water is also warmer than is usual for this time of year.
Wednesday will be dry, with the eastern parts of the country having the best chance of sunshine. Maximum temperatures will be around 7 degrees.
