Help ID nearly drowned man at Amsterdam Centraal: police
Police in Amsterdam are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who nearly drowned in the water behind the city's Central Station on Wednesday. Fire Department divers rescued the man from the IJ river at about 6:45 a.m., and he was taken to an area hospital.
The unknown victim is an Asian man, approximately 1.70-meters-tall. He was wearing a black sweater, black jeans, and black size 42 Dr. Martens shoes. The man also had a black bracelet and brown beaded necklace.
Authorties said the divers quickly found the man after the incident was reported. He was pulled from the water relatively fast, and was listed in critical condition at the hospital.
Police asked anyone to contact them with information that could help determine the man's identity.
