Try on condoms at Utrecht CS for World Aids Day
The SOA AIDS Nederland foundation came up with a playful way to promote condom use in the run-up to World Aids Day on December 1st. The foundation is launching a pop-up store at Utrecht Central Station where you can try condoms to see which brand, type and size suits you best, the Telelgraaf reports.
The pop-up store includes a condom adviser and a measurement tool to check your size. "A fitting room ensures that people can fit condoms discreetly", the foundation said. "Extra large, small, thin or thick. For men, for women, for longer fun. With ridges, studs, wing, design, with tingling or sedative. What fits you best, protects well and is comfortable, is different for every person."
According to Hanna Bos, the foundation's physician on infectious disease prevention, condom use is no longer the norm. She wants the government to launch a public campaign about safe sex.
Condom use among sexually active young people dropped from over 80 percent in 2009 to only 55 percent last year. At the same time, the number of STD infections is on the rise.
