Missing Dutch man's belongings found in Norway

The Norwegian police found items that belong to missing Dutch man Arjen Kamphuis, who on August 20th. Exactly what items were found, the police did not say. The belongings were found by a fisherman on Tuesday night. They were found near the coast in the vicinity of Kvaenflaget, a small mountain between Fauske and Rognan, ANP reports.

The 46-year-old computer expert from Amsterdam went hiking in Norway last month. He was set to return to the Netherlands on August 22nd, but never made it back. His employer reported him missing on August 29th, according to the police. He was last seen in Bodø on August 20th. 

The police have reason to believe that Kamphuis traveled by train from Bodo to Rognan on August 20th. Whether he was actually in the area where his belongings were found, is not yet clear. 

The Norwegian police received 25 tips about Kamphuis after sharing information about his disappearance on television. A witness reported seeing him in Denmark early this month. 

Last week the Dutch police reported that on for 20 minutes on August 30th, in the vicinity of Vikeså, around 50 kilometers south of Stavanger. After that, the SIM card was removed and a German SIM card was put into the phone.
