Amersfoort zoo hands out anti-selfie masks to visitors
Starting this week, Dierenpark Amersfoort is handing out dinosaur masks to visitors who do not want to appear online in other people's photos and videos taken at the zoo. With this experiment the zoo wants to see if the masks are effective in protecting visitors' privacy, RTL Nieuws reports.
The zoo is receiving increasing requests from visitors who do not want to be photographed or filmed during their day out. "We want to take this need of our visitors seriously in a playful way", Marije Allemekinders of the zoo said to the broadcaster. "The tough dino prints fit in nicely with our zoo. We've already spotted the first visitors with a mask, both adults and children."
This experiment will run until the autumn holiday. Afterwards the zoo will decide whether the masks will become a permanent fixture.
