Man, 34, killed in Eindhoven shooting
A 34-year-old man from Eindhoven was killed in a shooting in the city on Saturday evening, the police confirmed. He was gunned down while sitting in his car on Sionstraat at around 8:00 p.m. He died at the scene.
Witnesses told the police that two men were standing on the corner of Sionstraat and Gibeonstraat just after the shooting. The corner is about 20 meters away from where the incident happened. The police are looking for these two men, and call on them or anyone who may know who they are to come forward. "They may have important information for us."
A trace evidence investigation was done at the scene. The car in which the victim was killed, was confiscated and taken in for further investigation. The police are also talking to local residents and witnesses.
"We are engaged in a detailed investigation in which facts, truth-finding and care are paramount", the police said. "At this moment we can not yet share new details from the investigation."
Eindhovens Dagblad identifies the victim as Fouad Rashidi. According to Omroep Brabant, the police are looking for a perpetrator with a Turkish or Moroccan appearance. The man is around 50 years old with a stout posture. He is 1.65 meters tall, with graying black hair and a mustache, the broadcaster writes.
