Cooler days ahead for the Netherlands
Tuesday will still be very hot in the Netherlands, but after Wednesday temperatures will drop to what is normal for August, according to Weerplaza. The weather service expects maximums of between 20 and 25 degrees later this week.
Maximums ranging between 30 and 37 degrees are expected for Tuesday. Cloud cover will increase from the afternoon, and there is a chance of showers or thunderstorms overnight.
Wednesday will be the transition day, according to the weather service. Scattered showers are expected in the country. Depending on the showers, inland maximums may still climb to 30 degrees on Wednesday.
The wind will turn to the west or southwest, gradually bringing less hot air into the country. Later this week, maximums will therefore drop to between 20 and 25 degrees, with a shower every now and again. The rain will not be enough to eliminate the drought however, Weerplaza expects.
