Seven Hague homes evacuated over kitchen fire; one hurt

One person was injured in a kitchen fire in a home in The Hague over night. The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Seven homes were evacuated, ANP reports.

The fire started in a home on Groot Hertoginnenlaan. The two residents of the home were rescued from the balcony with a crane. One was taken to hospital, the other was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The fire was quickly under control and extinguished. No other homes were damaged. What caused the fire is not yet clear.
