Dutch man killed in jet-ski accident in Belgium
A 55-year-old man from Sittard died in a jet-ski accident in the Belgian municipality of Lanaken on Sunday. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the man, but it was to no avail. He died at the scene, NOS reports.
The Dutch man fell from his jet ski when he made a sharp turn. Bystanders initially did not realize that he was in trouble and only came into action when the man did not respond after his fall. His friend jumped into the water and brought him to the side.
The accident happened on a canal that is popular among water sports enthusiasts, according to the broadcaster. The Dutch man and his friend were spotted on the canal frequently over the past days.
