The fire brigades in Noord-Brabant and Limburg had their hands more than full with multiple wildfires on Sunday. The fires were caused by continuing drought in the two provinces, RTL Nieuws reports.

In Budel a large wildfire had fire departments from the entire region busy on Sunday. A drone team was deployed to get a complete picture of the burning area. About 10 hectares burnt down.

In Casteren there were two forest fires. Firefighters got them under control quickly, but extinguishing them completely took some time. In Tilburg there was a fire near a large residential area.

A forest fire in Alphen, Noord-Brabant, caused a lot of smoke. Here too a drone was used to map out the burning area. The fire department got the fire under control during the course of the afternoon.

A large fire broke out along the roadside in Hoeven. Firefighters managed to stop it spreading to nearby homes.

There was also a roadside fire in Weert in Limburg, along Trancheeweg. This fire halted train traffic between Roermond and Weert for some time.
